The lawsuits are incoming. Just adding fuel to the fire at this point.
Anyone who thinks twitter or FB should censor this way is simply wrong
Both sites have every right to block misinformation about COVID-19 given out by their subscribers. Sorry if this misinformation aligns with your politics.
From Politico: "The duo, whose legal names are Lynnette Hardaway and Rochelle Richardson, claimed in a tweet Wednesday afternoon that individuals will get sicker if they stay inside amid the pandemic, a statement directly at odds with the advice of public health experts who have called for millions of Americans to self-isolate."
You misread my point, it's not about politics, both sites have the absolute right to do what they want on their own platforms, but the description of "misinformation" is a broad term that could be used to censor nearly every viewpoint not in alignment with the political views of the site's operators.
Imagine FB or Twitter blocking these type posts as "misinformation"
- The governor is not that good at caring about his citizens because he wants businesses to open too soon
- President Trump is simply lying about that policy
- Joe Biden did not sexually assault anyone and to claim so without proof is crazy
- The new stimulus package will cripple our national debt worse than any other directive in our history
So... that means if someone believes the baker should have been made to bake the cake that they must also believe Facebook and YouTube must be forced to host whatever content they upload?Prager has been trying to sue YouTube unsuccessfully for quite a while now.
Regardless of the Section 230 stuff, I don't see how the same people who say "If a baker won't bake you a cake, find another baker" can consistently hold that Facebook and YouTube should be forced to host whatever content they upload. Find another baker and leave the government out of it.

You have to "have restraint" to not state your opinions and beliefs? ok then!Have they blocked those posts? Besides, these for-profit companies can decide what the content allow on their sites. If you have a problem with that, why not create your own platform?
I've been on Facebook for ten years and have never said anything political in my posts. Some of us have restraint.
I'm in the same boat. Talking politics on Facebook is like randomly yelling in your driveway.Have they blocked those posts? Besides, these for-profit companies can decide what the content allow on their sites. If you have a problem with that, why not create your own platform?

You can't be serious. Banning medical companies and their procedures is ridiculous. Both sites have every right to block misinformation about COVID-19 given out by their subscribers. Sorry if this misinformation aligns with your politics.

Public health experts like the WHO? They told us there is no human to human transmission and that masks don't work. Then I guess let's get back to work because there is no cause for concern. The WHO said it and they are experts right?

If Fauci would've mentioned this technology no platform would've taken the info down.
