Web Censorship and Political Bias

Theres so much to cover on this subject. Its a battleground. Its way bigger than just right vs left. I wish I had the time to devote to really get into this.

This is a big blow to YT. Rogans podcast is very popular

On an interesting side note, I dont cate for many of Tim Poole's views and opinions. His personality at times irritates me. The subjects he picks are very interesting though. Even though I dont agree with him always, I value him having a platform for me to listen to and help see things in different ways. Its very important for the internet to resist the demands of some FASCISTS that every other thing they disagree with be immediately taken down and the authors get banned and harassed. This culture of harassment, cancellation, banning, shadow banning, censorship, etc. is a fight that is much deeper than just right vs left. Either everything is okay or nothing is because who decides? I strongly oppose many things people post on here, but I would fight for them to be able to post it. I wish more people would agree to at least hold this as the bare minimum for everyone that they not be shunned even if their opinion is unpopular or slightly less popular than the majority. This is a slippery slope and our best hope may be to value and fight for the rights of people that you vehemently disagree with because they may be wrong, but you have the right to be wrong.

Support Lukes channel, he is heavily algorithmically manipulated against unfairly. Youtube would never recommend this, so sharing the videos is the only way to spread them. Lukes channel is good, it doesn't deserve to be sneakily suppressed.

Are you saying rogan is conservative?
The whole conservative vs liberal label thing doesnt work. Its just hard to express it correctly.

Some people would say yes

Youtube is going to prove that if you
GET WOKE GO BROKE

Brzezinski says she arranged call with Twitter CEO to discuss banning Trump

All they can ever do is try and shut people down and stop them from speaking. They want to take folk's constitutional rights away while claiming they respect them. These people are evil and are taking pages out of the CCP's playbook. They need to be called out and exposed.

The leftists seem to think so. A guy who was firmly left 10 years ago is now considered center-right by most people.

Part of that is people getting more conservative as they get older. Part of that is the rapid movement further and further to the left by the vocal liberals in this country.

Obviously not just Rogan. Dave Rubin, Jordan Peterson... A lot of the so called "intellectual dark web" who are loved by conservatives were considered liberal at some point in their careers.

Well, the executives at Twitter apparently read The New York Times. Per CNN:

For the first time, Twitter called tweets from Donald Trump "potentially misleading" - a decision that prompted the president to accuse the social media platform of election meddling.

On Tuesday, Twitter highlighted two of Trump's tweets that falsely claimed mail-in-ballots would lead to widespread voter fraud, appending a message the company has introduced to combat misinformation and disputed or unverified claims.

"Get the facts about mail-in-ballots," read the message beneath each tweet. It linked to a curated fact-check page the platform had created filled with further links and summaries of news articles debunking the assertion.

Twitter said the move was aimed at providing "context" around Trump's remarks.

*******************

This was an unprecedented move from Twitter. I hope this means that Twitter will start fact-checking Donald Trump's conspiracy theories and false information in real time. It will be very embarrassing for Trump to see practically every tweet he sends also come with a disclaimer, with links included to debunk his false narratives. It doesn't look like Twitter is going to put up with Trump's propaganda anymore. This is a great development, because Twitter has been Trump's primary mode of communicating with his followers.

Twitter can do what they want as a private company but I think if you have to censor peopleโ€™s views no matter what they are, itโ€™s wrong. And on top of that, they canโ€™t be taken seriously when they only โ€œfact checkโ€ one way politcally

Proof they only fact check one way? Under their terms of service they should delete his account. They arenโ€™t bc heโ€™s the POTUS. How about he not be an asshat?
