Twitter has removed a COVID-19 conspiracy theory posted by Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei calling the vaccines imported from the U.S. or U.K 'completely untrustworthy.'

Khamenei, who has the final say on all state matters, still has access to the account and has since tweeted - to the ire of Twitter critics demanding he be suspended since the platform banned U.S. President Donald Trump from their services.

'It's not unlikely they would want to contaminate other nations,' the tweet said in reference to the two countries, CBS News reports. It also said the vaccines from France 'aren't trustworthy.'

It raises questions as to why certain leaders such as Venezuelan president Nicolás Maduro and Saudi Arabia's King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud all still have access to their accounts.

Khamenei in the past as even called for genocide in Israel through the 'elimination of Zionists', but is allowed to remain on the platform.

Rocker Ariel Pink has been dropped from his record label Mexican Summer after he tweeted about attending the “Save America March” at the White House in Washington, D.C. on January 6.

“Due to recent events, Mexican Summer and its staff have decided to end our working relationship with Ariel Rosenberg AKA Ariel Pink moving forward,” tweeted the record label on Friday.

Ariel Pink was called out for attending the rally on Wednesday after fans saw that he posted a photo of himself with friends with Washington, D.C. to his Instagram account.

“there’s photo and video documentation that you were at the event,” complained one fan to Pink. “whether you entered the building or not does not imply that u were not involved in the event.”

“the instagram post referring to ur song expressed that u enjoyed today’s event and had fun along friends,” the fan added.

Pink reacted by tweeting that he had attended the rally to show support for President Donald Trump, and explained that he went back to his hotel to take a nap after the event.

The self-proclaimed “front page of the internet,” Reddit, has banned an unofficial Donald Trump forum following the President’s blacklisting across Facebook, Twitter, and other social media sites.

The popular link-aggregation and discussion website Reddit recently announced that it has banned the r/DonaldTrump subreddit (the site’s name for its user-generated forums) following recent events at the U.S. Capitol. Reddit confirmed to TechCrunch that the subreddit was shut down for “repeated policy violations.”

Twitter has banned President Donald Trump’s official campaign account and the campaign’s Digital Director, Gary Coby. The platform permanently banned Trump earlier on Friday evening.

Twitter’s suspension of accounts essentially censors the historical record by removing all the accounts’ tweets from being publicly accessed.

The Trump campaign’s Twitter profile published a statement from Trump on Friday in which the president said he would build his own social media platform. Twitter immediately banned the profile.

Mexican President AMLO Condemns Twitter, Facebook for Censoring Donald Trump

Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador condemned the social media Masters of the Universe for censoring the accounts of President Donald Trump.

“I don’t like anybody being censored or taking away from the the right to post a message on Twitter or Face(book). I don’t agree with that, I don’t accept that,” said López Obrador, according to a report by the Associated Press on Thursday.

“How can you censor someone: ‘Let’s see, I, as the judge of the Holy Inquisition, will punish you because I think what you’re saying is harmful,'” added Mexico’s president. “Where is the law, where is the regulation, what are the norms? This is an issue of government, this is not an issue for private companies.”

Presidential spokesman Jesús Ramírez added that “Facebook’s decision to silence the current leader of the United States calls for a debate on freedom of expression, the free exchange of information on the web, democracy and the role of the companies that administer (social) networks.”

Russian opposition leader Alexey Navalny called Twitter’s ban of President Trump an "unacceptable act of censorship" that could be exploited by oppressive governments around the world.

"Don't tell me he was banned for violating Twitter rules. I get death threats here every day for many years, and Twitter doesn't ban anyone (not that I ask for it)," Navalny continued. He noted that "cold-blooded murderers" like Russian President Vladimir Putin and Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro are allowed on the platform.

Outrage Over DC Riot Isn’t About Democracy, It’s About Wielding Power

But elite outrage is not really about what happened at the capitol—about the “sacred citadel of our democracy being defiled” and so on. The outrage, like almost all expressions of righteous indignation from our elites in the Trump era, is performative. It is in service of a larger purpose that has nothing to do with the peaceful transfer of power and everything to do with the wielding of power.

Specifically, it’s about punishing supporters of President Trump. If the pro-Trump mob can be depicted as “terrorists” and “traitors,” then there’s almost nothing we shouldn’t do to silence them. Right? Rick Klein, the political director at ABC News, said the quiet part out loud on Thursday when he mused (in a now-deleted tweet) that getting rid of Trump is “the easy part” and the more difficult task will be “cleansing the movement he commands.”

That’s not the kind of language you use when you’re in the business of reporting the news. It’s the kind of language you use when you’re in the business of social control.

A lot of people on the right have noted the supposed hypocrisy of media elites like Klein, but it’s not really hypocrisy because Klein and his comrades don’t really have a problem with violent mobs storming into buildings and smashing windows, so long as they agree with the mob’s agenda. That’s why corporate media was so tolerant of much larger and more dangerous mobs destroying American cities for months on end last year. When Black Lives Matter rioters stormed city halls and police stations, burned down churches, and ransacked shopping districts in major U.S. cities, killing dozens and destroying livelihoods, the media offered support for the rioters’ cause, which they invoked time and again to justify their criminal acts.
