Web Censorship and Political Bias

What has happened this week with Big Tech acting in unison to silence conservative voices on social media is not a shock. We all knew that the day would come when the nation would be handed over to the Democrats, and nasty, degenerate little SJWs that permeate social media companies would feel free to indulge in their fascistic fantasies. We’ve talked about the parabola of behavior that was becoming very obvious even before Donald Trump was elected in 2016. In the past couple of years, their behavior has become more and more egregious. The appearances of the social media CEOs like Dorsey and Zuckerberg on Capitol Hill have created nothing more than an unending string of broken promises and outright lies.

That the social media companies were out to suppress any voices that did not follow the progressive agenda is baked in. It is expected.

Despite all the evidence, a relentless quisling faction on the right reacted to what was happening with a shrug. If you objected to what was happening, they’d mutter some inane comment about “muh private company” and, my favorite, “build your own platform.”

Both of these arguments are stupid in the extreme and are only relevant in some Ayn Rand fantasy world.

When private companies become monopolies, they are subject to regulation to ensure they act in society’s best interests. The oil and steel monopolies were broken up. The telephone monopoly was tightly regulated. Radio and television operate under a federally issued license and are subject to federal supervision. Somehow the tech guys made common cause the libertarians and other grifters and created an environment where companies like Twitter and Facebook have unlimited power and absolutely no accountability or responsibility. For instance, a television statement is forbidden by law to refuse to carry or edit the content of a candidates’ ad. Twitter and Facebook both routinely block ads from conservative candidates that they don’t like. They add an editorial comment to candidate ads when they disapprove of the content pretending to be fact checks of the ad. And any time an objection is raised, the same voices start bleating that private companies can operate how they please (unless, of course, they don’t want to bake a cake for a homosexual wedding or rent a house to someone using housing vouchers or any number of other examples).

GAB is ahead of the curve on Parler. They they have their own servers and it’s setup for a web browser, they don’t need an app.
Because they got cancelled already and were forced to move. I have an acct there but Parler was better

Actions have consequences Franklin. After the last few days, that should be evident to all but the most dense. Rump, Hawley and a number of rioters have learned that the hard way. Like it or don’t like it, it don’t matter. Just the way it is.

Indeed, to paraphrase Orwell....the tyrannical rule by fraud and force, once the fraud is exposed, they'll just rule by force.

Apparently they were gonna be good to go if they changed their rules and moderation policies. They should have done it then randomly delete and put disclaimers on left leaning posts.
The leftists on the site are mostly trolls but that’s the thing about free speech

Which one gets banned by Big Tech?

A. Various Chinese Communist Party accounts - Spread disinformation about Covid-19 (Brought to China by the U.S. military & that it originated in Italy), supressor of free speech and democracy to their own people, and holder of tens of thousands of Muslims and Christians in internment camps.

B. Various Iranian Leader accounts - Posts regarding committing genocide against the Israeli people and “Death to America.”

C. Hollywood Elites and others who have posted violent images of the President, wishing death daily upon the President and when he had Covid-19, and those who have posted about raping his wife and beating up his children.

D. President of the United States - Doesn’t think before he posts and can be a moron.

If Big Tech holds one to a standard, they need to hold all to the same standard.

Chicago real estate agent fired after US Capitol protest post, ex-employer confirms

A Chicago real estate agent has been fired after posting on social media from the U.S. Capitol on Wednesday, her former employer announced.

Chicago real estate company @properties identified the agent as Libby Andrews in a social media post on Thursday.

Andrews acknowledged on social media that she took part in "Storming the Capitol," the company said.

"@properties does not condone violence, destruction or illegal activities," the statement read.

Andrews contended during a media interview that she had done nothing wrong and had not entered the Capitol. She said she climbed the steps of the building, posted selfies from the scene on Instagram, and sang the national anthem.

"I’m a 56-year-old woman, petite. I was not there causing trouble. I was there to support my president," she added, according to Reuters.
Andrews is one of a growing list of people accused of participating in the Capitol protest to be subsequently fired.

Yesterday I learned of a recent posting on the official blog of the Mozilla Foundation. This is the outfit best known for its Firefox web browser. I have had some version of Firefox on my computers since 2004. But after reading the blog post, I uninstalled Firefox and it won’t be back. If you have it installed on your machine, by the time you get to the end of this post you’ll be deleting it too, just to get the stink of it out of your house.

Wouldn’t it be interesting if say Monday the futures for Apple, Amazon, Google and Twitter suddenly had market whiplash?

The technology conglomerates in recent days have acted exclusively like editorial outlets. They have committed direct fiduciary negligence against their stock holders. And they seem to have forgotten that, to at least some degree, the people they are mistreating now are also the ones that helped drive their success on the Nasdaq this year.

In fact, in a year when the average American had great economic success last January and February—many of us had to scrap and claw for most of the rest of the year to get to even. Sadly, there remain many who have not gotten back to square one.

But not so for Tim Cook, Jeff Bezos, Larry Page and “Jack.” Nope. For these ringwraiths there would come no sacrifice, just a lot of money and a record year. Add Zuckerberg to the mix and these companies kept the Nasdaq above water almost all by themselves for 2020.

Power corrupts though, and absolute power corrupts absolutely.

Big Tech seems to believe that they are above us minions. They pour money into elections—wrongfully attached to conditions on how the election is carried out. When the plebs speak up, they turn a deaf ear. No one holds them accountable.

What America has turned into—Amerika—in the last 72 hours resembles the technological equivalent of Cuba, China, and the old Soviet Union.
