The 2nd amendment has zero to do with hunting. The second amendment was put in place as check to an oppressive government. I posted earlier in this thread that the dems had zero interest in public safety or gun crime in their efforts to disarm the country. The dems can't oppress an armed populace. The leftist arguments that no way could you put forth any type of resistance against the US military strength. Well, the Taliban say howdy. The democrats want 100% control and that can't achieve that with an armed citizenry. That's why they try and get more and more people depending on them for their bread crumbs.

As soon as someone brings up hunting in a 2A conversation I know they don’t have a clue.

That and or use the term assault weapon.

Hunting only bolsters the 2nd above and beyond. In fact Heller specifically cited hunting as well as self-defense.

I do know what you were alluding to in your post.
