From what I'm hearing, the sky is the limit with Jones as our coach. He is one of the brightest young minds in college football, a smart tactician and all around good X's and O's coach. His defense is always hard to work against because he gives you so many different looks. He puts tremendous pressure on opposing offenses.

Jones is definitely a sleeper pick, someone who would not be on the tip of your tongue if you were looking for a new coach. But that's the kind of miscalculation Jones wants you to make. He's an underdog and loves to prove people wrong.

I can't wait for spring practice to begin so that we can begin our return from oblivion. He's a hard worker and those Bearcat defenses always seem to give it their all, play with intensity every play until the whistle blows and leave nothing on the field. And they do all the little things right, all the things that add up to wins on the scoreboard. They just get in the face of the other team and bring it play after play.

If you're not excited about the direction of the program you better check your pulse. Jones is about to whip this team into shape - it's time to get on the bus or get run over by the bus. It's time to give this team the support they deserve, because you are going to witness a team at rock bottom start climbing over the hump. They are raising the bar, 5-7 won't cut it, not by a long shot, and coaches and the players alike will out to show everyone they are a team to be reckoned with in the near future.

Great post..I agree Strong will do great things at UT. If some dont like it or wont support him they can go pull for somebody else. People just dont realize how good this hire will be and finishing with an unreal recruiting class.

I'm personally happy with the hire if it goes down...Some people are seriously clueless. Strong would be a great fit here.

While I agree he is a good hire and I'm very happy if he is the next coach of the Vols.

He's 52 years old, hardly one of the bright "young" minds in the game

Horrible hire. Please powers that be at UT, hire an AD with a high football IQ. We need somebody that knows what a good coach is.

Well, let's start with this: Charlie Strong was the Defensive Coordinator for the 2006 Florida Gators, a team that played Ohio State for the BCS Championship. Ohio State had a Heisman-winning quarterback and was favored by a touchdown.

Florida won by 27, and held Ohio State to 82 yards of total offense.

Is that anything you could get behind?

more 6 - 6, 7 - 5 seasons if Strong is hired.

I like what Arky did. they reached out and took who they wanted.

Seems like Hart put a open position for coach. No great coaches required

Don't know about the hire(if it happens) but the man has to be better than Dooley and I'll support this team until he shows me that he needs to be shown the door.

Is Charlie Strong the best that Hart can get? C'mon Man... He coaches at Louisville or Western Kentucky... someplace like that. Sad day if that's the best Hart can do. Hart start packing your bags. :salute:

Strong should be given all the support that a new coach deserves. Support your team and the coach. Im tired of all the negativity here. He just might surprise you if you give him a chance, this isnt dooley we are talking about.
