What Charlie Strong Brings to UT

Gruden pole riders are just mad Hart didnt go all in on a guy who hasnt ever been a college head coach, let alone a coach of any kind for the past four years. If you want to scream Patterson or Peterson, you are delusional if you think either of them stand a chance in this conference. Fedora supporters, i reference you to Ohio State's mighty spread offences vs the SEC in the past. The whole Gundy affair was fishy from the start but he would have been a good hire.

I think some people have a problem understanding that to outsiders, UT is a stepping stone, not a destination, which is why all the bob stoops talk was laughable. We are not a "powerhouse". Have some humility and get some perspective. People who say "Strong wont win a national championship" need a reality check, let's try an 8-win season first and then we can see what happens. This program is yeeeears away from being able to compete on that level, but I will gladly accept 7-10 wins and the outback/chik fil a/gator bowl in the meantime.

All things considered, Charlie Strong is an excellent hire at this point in time.

I've heard people said Strong hasn't gotten alot of great talent at Louisville because it's a hard place to recruit. Given that Tennessee isn't a bed of 4 and 5 start recruits, what makes people believe he can recruit at UT?

He may be able to, but the argument that he couldn't pull a bunch of top recruits to Lou makes me wonder.

Charlie has all those Florida connections, he's really respected by the High School coaches down there. He has built relationships that will pay dividends for us and open a pipeline into the most fertile talent state in the country. We are going to be loaded in a few years.

Yay, we will now when 7-8 games a year. Huge improvement over 5 win seasons.

Maximum I expect from him is 7. And 8 only occasionally when schedule is soft.

I'm all in if Strong is selected. I am all in if it's someone else. I bleed Orange and support the program and thus support the coach as I supported Dooley till fired..supported Phil till he was fired..I support Majors till he was fired. Can't wait till O/W game.

Just curious what the feeling is from everybody else about Strong in this regard.. Do you get the feeling that Charlie Strong is the guy that can build a legacy here and have a long tenure and regarded as one of the great UT coaches?? I just have a feeling he doesn't fit that bill and one thing we are in desperate need of is sustainable consistency in coaching staff and the administration..

What say you?? Does he fit that mold of potential UT legend??
