What happens when Bruce and all the other assistants who lied get suspended for a season, leaving Mark Pankratz to coach the squad...and recruit too. Do we just sit and wait for a lame duck coach to come back and have zero credibility recruiting?

Do we throw away the program to keep a coach who never had the best interests of the kids and OUR University in mind to begin with? You would really sell everything this University (and state, mind you, if you call yourself a Volunteer) for one elite eight appearance and some pizza outside TBA? Do you happen to have any gold or estate jewelry laying around, I can take it off your hands for you...

IF (huge "IF") the punishment is mild and Bruce stays, I think there will be plenty of Vol fans rejoicing abundantly.

Through good and bad I am always a vol fan. I will always be a vol fan. It doesn't matter what sport or who the coach is, I am a vol fan. I may not like what is going on but I will always support the vols. The only thing that is accomplished by putting the coach or players down is convince those players we are recruiting that read the posts on these boards, that UT is not the place they want to be. Lets try putting something positive on here every once in awhile.

haha. I doubt anything about my post was idiotic. It's 100% dead on. Most of the basketball fans on this site are bandwagon fans. Love UT when they do well but constantly hate on them when things get rough. UT gets bashed more on their board than Catpause members do and that's sad. Maybe you should check around the board, look at the users who foamed out the mouth over Pearl and see the same ones bash the whole program when they drop so many games. I've never been a huge fan of Pearl but that was from the beginning. I didn't let other posters make my mind up for me.

They come here because our fans care and are passionate and quite frankly the other boards from what little I've read seem boring as hell.

Our competition has such ethical coaches and their squeaky clean image is simply boring and leaves little to trash.

Its kinda like Charlie Sheen said Everybody wants to party like him and have his money, girls and adventure but they could not handle being him for a number of reasons.

Not an exact quote but they love to hate us because ITS GREAT TO BE A TENNESSEE VOL and They're not.....:clapping:

Can we please get over this, "no matter what, stand behind your coach" bullcrap? If this were Calipari or Saban, the site would meltdown in hate. Is there seriously no line? Can CPB or CDD just do whatever the hell they want and we live with it because they are "our coach"? Why is there such a problem with having morals and standards?

Pearl should of been gone a long time ago but I'd be more sad if Hamilton stayed over Pearl anyways. So I can live with Pearl as long as Hammy is shown the door.

I know. Which part is the alleged 80pct? The ones who think a change is justified or the ones who claim UT had no bball before 2005? Which ones sound like bandwagon fans. Funny how the "true fans" don't think UT is good enough to draw a coach and can't admit bball before Pearl existed.

Maybe because in the end we stand beside our team like Karl Childers stood behind Linda and Frank when it comes to trolls like Doyal Hargraves...........:yes:

No way. Im all for change. I just don't think Pearl is a good coach. He's great for publicity and all that other garbage but his end game coaching, substitution problems, and constant crying make me sick! I know a lot of people that got excited about basketball after 05 but its those and the ones that kept defending Pearl that are now calling for their head. Maybe some is a change of heart or they actual realize how bad of a coach he is now.

but ehh regardless I'll still watch UT ball!!!!! I still remember being a kid and getting cheap lower tickets with my papaw because UT was so dang horrible. I'd rather them be good though lol

I agree with you, it was a rhetorical question, tongue in cheek. I have never thought he was greatest x and o's coach but I am far from an expert. I do think he had other strengths that are a great fit here. With that said, I would in no way suggest a change if not for his antics over the last year. My loyalty is to UT bball, not Pearl.

I'm with you. I remember well the Houston days and going to games then. Got season tix later and loved it. Funny thing is how many people in the Pearl is UT bball crowd that say UT had no bball before Pearl, when really it is they just weren't paying attention. Yet, somehow, we aren't the true fans and they are. Funny aint it

I'll continue watching and cheering for Tennessee to win every game as I have since I was a child and Wade Houston was coach. I've followed them through thick and thin. The problem I have with a thread like this is that I'd be willing to bet money the OP began following Tennessee basketball only after Bruce Pearl stepped on campus and is questioning other posters' loyalty.

While it plays out and we have games remaining why not support your program and coach till we are forced to make a change.As much as others wish he would have failed sooner the record is what it is and better than anything we've had in a long time....:hi:
