You do understand that that statement is complete garbage, right? No one on here wants UT to fail whether they like Bruce Pearl or not.

Again. No one should want Obama to fail at the expense of the United States. I think Pearl should be fired, but I'm not hoping we lose every game to accomplish that result.

Yep, that is what I was talking about. I wonder how many of the "Pearl is UT bball" crowd sat through those days? I would bet the minority of them. One poster today said that UT hadn't had talent in 50 years until Bruce recruited his guys. Shows how long he has been following things. They also can't comprehend how we can cheer for UT yet think Pearl should go based on NCAA mess

Wow, another horrible comparison. I don't want UT to fail. Pearl's fate in my opinion has nothing to do with basketball, so why would I want my team to lose? I want America to do well regardless of who is president.

Sometimes you guys never cease to amaze me.

I never said I wanted the US to fail I just dont like where were headed under his leadership.It seems to me to be spot on but I think you missed the point....:whistling:

Never said you said that. Got your point, I think. I actually am confused what you are talking about with that comment. Just saying it is foolish to make comparison. Good grief. You say one can't root for UT yet want Pearl fired and compare it to someone who doesn't like the president not wanting US to do well? I get it, just saying it is bad metaphor. It's basketball and entirely possible to cheer for team and think coach should be fired

No obviously you still dont get it.Great comparison because I want the US to succeed by leaps and bounds but I hope Obama gets voted out next term.I have never liked him and never trusted him and think he is a liar.Now what part of that comparison is not spot on with the Pearl haters.............:eek:k:

You're right, I didn't get it. I do after your explanation and was actually editing my post as you typed. It is still a bad comparison though. I am not a fan of the pres either and didn't vote for him, and certainly don't agree with him on most things. However, I would like economy to get better, and many other things to happen which would mean him changing his platform. In order for him to not be reelected, the US would suffer, and I don't want that. So ideally I would want him to get it together and change some policies and be reelected. I get what you are saying but wanting a coach fired for NCAA sanctions is diff from a pres. Tenn can be successful and Pearl still get fired because he would get fired based on NCAA stuff. If pres doesn't get reelected it means US is in bad shape. Thanks for clarifying your point though, I get it now

Or maybe it is good comparison. It's late, I don't know. Regardless, I get it now. Thought you were comparing people who didn't lIke Pearl to people who wanted US to tank because they didn't like pres. My mistake

No its just a little shallow making an assessment on CDD before he has had an opportunity to field a complete roster of experienced talent in the toughest conf. in college football thats all......:yes:

It has nothing to do with whether Pearl stays or goes and everything to do with supporting our team and not bashing its coach night after night after night while in the middle of the season.I personally believe if you want them to succeed then you wont beat the dead horse constantly.I do believe the players may read or visit here often and this does not help morale.....:popcorn:
