How else can it be labeled? If you want to keep Pearl, you are clearly putting him before the program. If you support him, you aren't concerned about unethical behavior or the image problem it presents for the university, as well as the basketball program.

You can be a Pearl supporter and admit he did wrong and think he should be punished. Being unethical would mean you think regardless of what he did wrong, he shouldn't get punished at all.

I fully agree. It is the folks who make up ridiculous explanations to try to justify his behavior that get labeled. If you say you want him to stay regardless of the sanctions or damage to the program, you probably think more of Pearl than the program, but you have the right to do so without being labeled as a worshiper. You probably are just not being realistic and clearly thinking through the possible damage to the program long term.

I don't think Pearl has done anything that any other coach under investigation probably hasn't done. He just got caught at it. Now the AA will try to make an example out of him. If he stays great if he goes then he will be replaced and life will go on. Once a VOL always a VOL!!!! GBO!!!!!

Can't agree with the all other coaches have done the same thing, but I fully agree with remaining a Vol regardless of the outcome.

Bas! All I guess I'm saying is any coach that has gotten caught doing the no no has probably tried to wiggle out of it in some way. Not all coaches have come clean right away. Some coaches play dumb and say they didn't know it was a violation or lay it on the school for not telling them of the infraction. Take Kiffen for example with taking the GA to Florida after the school told him there would be a problem if he went. Anyone with half a brain knows Kif is lying about why the GA went. And the outcome of that will remain to be seen. I like Coach Pearl but I am of the belief that no coach is bigger than the program. Some schools are more concerned with winning than with ethics. Take Calipari at Kentucky. He has been dirty everywhere he has been. It's like he has a rabbit in his pocket or a friend in the AA. Kentucky never has been real big on ethics when it comes to basketball though. If it should be determined that it is in the best interest of the program and the school then he must go. I do believe in giving people a second chance. If he screws up again then out he should go. I will support whatever decision the school makes because they certainly know more details of the situation than we probably do. I try not to get all of my news from Dick Vitale.ha! GBO!!!!

And even if it did, this isn't American Idol. Ask Bobby Knight how far fan support goes? If he is gone it is because the school will pay too high a price by keeping him, no poll will change that

Most so-called insider media types are saying we keep him regardless of the damage to the program. That's what has many folks concerned.

I agree. In most cases fan support only goes as far as a winning program. Dooley could put together the most ethical program in the country. Football graduation rates could soar and players not get into fights in bars or rob Bammer fans with no money. But if he doesn't win the boosters and the fans would be screaming for his head. That is what it has come too unfortunately. Just my observation GBO!!!!

And the Pear beatdown continues.

What I find extremely curious about this site some will call a conspiracy theory.

Just a little while ago a thread was started about Colin Cowherd rumoring a top ten program going down.A few posters as well as I posted what an idiot ESPN's implant haired boy was.Anybody thats ever listened to him knows he has never laced up a pair of cleats or sneakers for competitive athletic play at any level.

The thread is quickly removed and had a number of posts.ESPN doing damage control for their DBAG boy.

The next thing that sticks out like Dickie V in a strap-on is the fact that we beat Vandy a top 20 team and there is no mention of it on the headlines but our previous two losses are on there like they were back to back.

They take every opportunity to slant any story about us in a negative light.

ESPN sucks and I do think they have an agenda against our program .If you dont see it your blind and dont follow the way there media machine portrays our University.

from what I learned over the weekend he has a LOT of backing to stay no matter what, at this point anyway. People can always change minds I guess but sounds like the top people of influence are on his team..

I left to go to the store after posting that and left my laptop on this site.I got home and had to do a system restore on my 6 mos. old laptop and never had a problem before.I swear it is the truth and I think that says a lot in itself.When they want to railroad you they can do it.......:crazy:
