What has happened to VolNation and its fans?

Well it's hard for people to stay on board with all of the bad things that have happened. And, since we have been terrible in football for 7 years or so, how many kids aged 10-20, maybe just starting to watch football with friends etc. would really want to root for the great tennessee? So there won't be as many vols fans in the future, that's exactly when UT has so many students that are "fans" of other schools.

Butch needs to show off the freshman quarterbacks! The fans will not settle till we see how they do in the games.

Also me personally it.pisses me off the dumb excuses that Butch makes for Worley and why he can't put them in.

Also UT fans are used to a pro type offense and again the fans wont settle for change unless its successful.
Aka the clawfense

And UT is spoiled by good play at the QB position!

Most of us have lived long enough to see football, like most things in life are cyclical. And also long enough to put things in proper order in life. Tennessee Football always has been and always will be a big part of my life, but I no longer throw screwdrivers through walls or wanna get drunk because we lose a game. Tennessee Football is more than just about football, sure winning makes it a lot more enjoyable, but either way it's still special to travel to Knoxville on a fall Saturday and be a part of the Vol Walk, tailgating with friends, watching the POTSB marching to the stadium and witness the players running through the T. We will get back on top, in the mean time chill out a bit and enjoy all the other things that make being a Vol fan special.

Sounds like an Ole Miss fan. "We always win the tailgate."

And then there are smart@zz idiots like this that wanna mock the players, fire the coaches and attack other fans because they apparently have nothing else in life to make them feel good about themselves other than a successful sports team.

Lol. It was a joke, Dr. Phil.

Thanks op. I know what you mean, but it has been like this for awhile now on here. There have been many times, especially after a loss, that I have thought about never coming on here again. It probably isn't too good for my health to get so pi$$ed off and upset over how dumb a lot of people on here are..lol And, like I said, especially after a loss, or even a win sometimes.

At least the fans still care. We haven't won shat in a very long time, not even a game against a ranked team. The way it looks, may be a lot longer still before we ever do.

I agree. And our fan base has become fractured over all the coaching changes.

I can remember the high school team ,,played around .500 ball year after year. 4-6, 5-5, a good year was 6-4. Finally a coach come along and 'STAYED' with the program for a few years,, they played in the state championship. Of course the coach went to bigger and better things,, in 2 years it was even worse 0-10, 1-9.... So coaching changes as frequently as Tennessee has had creates more problems than the average person realizes.

People are sick of rebuilding, every year we are missing pieces, this year no playmakers. All of Bray's former targets are doing well. We all know pieces are missing, we just have no patience left...we as a fan base need a big win...and I do not mean Vandy.

And for the record I have seen about a dozen of these threads today. There are very few people actually bashing coaches or players, besides Worley anyway. He gets bashed a lot. :)
I think there's about a dozen threads bashing the fans in general and Volnation members in specific. I feel so saddened to know I'm such a terrible fan. :cray:

he took over for palardy from last year (who I'm proud to say is doing extremely well)

Sure we might be struggling now, but give Butch Jones a couple of more years and he'll have this team competing in the SEC again. Again, I believe Butch Jones is the right man for the job. He knew it would be a big challenge to turn this program around and it's going to take him a few years to restore it. !

We said the same thing about Dooley. It's getting old, this perpetual rebuilding thing. At some point, Jones is going to have to show us something.

What happened? We are SICK of losing important games and barely winning easy games. Is it that hard to figure out?

It's just the accumulation of what's been going on over the last several years. Everyone is frustrated and getting mental

You nailed it. A traditionally proud fan base with nothing to be proud of (as in winning team/championships proud) for how many years now? It's incredibly frustrating.

I feel for Worley because I think the young Wrs are a huge part of the problem.

Yep, no trust. You could see it yesterday. Worley didn't trust guys to be in the right place.... the WRs were frustrated when bad passes were uncatchable after Worley held onto the ball too long and was out of rhythm and too late. It all seemed to feed on itself.

You're one of the main reasons why I started this thread in the first place.
