What if Heupel is gone

Kliff Kingsbury got a job. Anything is possible.

Kliff Kingsbury got a job because he had a relationship with their franchise qb in college and ran his style of offense and he was friends with Sean McVey which was apparently the only qualification necessary to be an NFL head coach at the time. You might could make that argument IF Hooker were a top 10 draft pick. He isn’t so it’s unlikely a team would hire the college head coach of a 2nd round draft pick

I think my cousin (UGA fan) nailed it. Heupel is Mark Richt 2.0. He's going to win us games against elite teams and then lose to nobodies when it matters most.

I disagree w/ your cousin, l truly believe Heupel can have championship level success; Are there positions that need improvements from a talent level? Yeah, are there changes that need to be made in some of the coaching staff? Maybe?? But let’s remember where this team was this time 2 years ago vs. where we are now… are we exactly where we wanna be or even where coach Heupel wants us to be? No. The problem with exceeding expectations is that it elevates the expectations, which is a good thing but it also requires something that not a lot of people have….Patience. I’m happy we’re heading in the right direction finally! Heupel will get us where we wanna be.

So the extremely competitive guy who has a shot at making the playoffs... checked out and gave us an embarrassing loss.

Please tell me this is satire.

We've come a long way. We learned yesterday that we have a long way to go until we're a legitimate national title contender. I hope you are right.

I would take Mark Richt clone in a heartbeat. High character man that regularly wins 9 - 10 games. Vols need to sign Heupel to a long term deal and I do mean long term. Give him some horses on defense and watch him terrorize the SEC.

And if that were true then I hope Tennessee does exactly what Georgia did. Keep him around a few years to build a winning program with good recruiting to stock the stables, then go find a coach who can take that team to the National Championships. I can certainly live with a few 9-11 win years while we build this program back up from s*#show it's been over the past decade and a half.

Probably not but that would fit the typical level of crap this fan base has to endure

I could be wrong but I think he knows this is a great place/situation to be in. In only year 2 and we as fans are talking about things that were only realistic 15-20 years ago.

The best is yet to come!

We’ve definitely made huge strides and have a lot more to take… but I believe we have the AD & coach to make us competitive

If he has already agreed to an under the table deal to go to the NFL then it would explain last night...
There’s no reason other than a instinct to assume the worst that would suggest this is happening. Besides there’s no desirable NFL jobs open. He’s not leaving, let’s not make a bad weekend needlessly worse by farcical worries
