IMO- it’s becuase we’ll get their best. Being a top 5 team, everybody we play from here on out is going to give us their absolute best stuff. For at least the first half.

Did anyone watch the Arkansas game against A&M? Arkansas players were arguing and frustrated with each other on the sidelines. I think Tennessee gets up on them early and they completely self destruct. That said we were overconfident going into South Carolina in 2022. We should stomp Arkansas though.

PLEASE don't conflate this game with the SC Debacle. This is a totally different Tennessee team. That Defense was horrendous. There was an instigator at LB. (surely you remember that fiasco) No team unity. Not even in the same realm.

I know the elephant in the room is Arkansas baseball not having a title yet but they’re still one of the top programs in total wins (might still be #1) over the last 5-6 years. Probably closer to Georgia before Kirby, go to Omaha consistently under DVH but never finish.

That's actually a good comparison. Y'all's baseball program is getting the results of Mark Richt, but the fans act like the program is being led by Kirby Smart or Nick Saban. No doubt it's a really good program, but the fans are over the top, at least when it comes to how they act around Tennessee.

In the last 5 seasons excluding COVID, Arkansas is 229-88 with 2 CWS, 1 Supers, and 2 Regionals. Tennessee is 251-83 with 3 CWS, 1 Supers, and 1 Regional. And we have a natty. I'm not sure exactly where Arkansas stands in terms of total wins over the past 5 seasons, but it's not #1. Could very well be #2 though.

I’m 47 and been a fan for 37 of those years. I get it. But dang this team and coach has a very different vibe. A lot of teams I just didn’t trust in many games at all. This one I do.

BUT even in 98 there were some games that could’ve changed everything (cough cough Arkansas)

I rewatched every game of that season and there were several games that I wondered how did we win that one. Truly a season of destiny.

I'm not saying this game couldn't be close, but if you look at who they've played, they haven't faced anyone who is even top 5 in their conference in offense and defense. OSU has a decent offense but is dead last in the Big 12 in defense. UAB is at least second in the American in offense but bottom half in defense. If we play to our talent level and they play to theirs we should still win by 2 maybe 3 scores.

Wow I am shocked to see those comments from them. I’ve been more worried about this game than I was for Oklahoma since the start of the season just because I think they are a more challenging offense than oklahomas. Hopefully it goes exactly like they think.

OU switching QB's has made the difference for them. If he had started against us, they might have made it more competitive

Hopefully we will have a spy on him the whole game. His legs are the only way they can move the chains consistently . Stop him from escaping out of the pocket and we win . He’s all they got anyhow. His passing accuracy while under pressure is awful. I don’t see this as a trap game . It’s an easy W.

They also have a very strong RB and a taller WR who’s a tough cover. Not as terrible as some are inferring, but we’re much better and more talented across the board. Should be a comfortable win for the VOLS!

-Tennessee will boat race us and send our loser of a HC one game closer to unemployment.

-Defense will keep us from getting blown out while the offense struggles to avoid having more sacks than points.

-We suck, but especially at home. Bet Tennessee for that EZ MONEY!

-We just lost to Texas A&M. Tennessee would put a beat down on A&M. That’s all you need to know for Saturday.

-I don’t know who else watched Tennessee just completely dominate NC State and Oklahoma, but I’ve gotta feeling I may just want to take my wife out on a date Saturday instead of watching this.

-I’ve been saying for 3 weeks now that Tennessee is the most complete team in the country. I still believe that. I also believe that hopefully this is Pittman’s last game here. Fingers crossed!

-The absolute best news about The Tennessee game is it won’t be another heartbreaking one score loss. They’ll just beat us by 20 plus.

-Tennessee will do what they want Saturday. We just don’t have the team to compete.

It's all relative to how the team is doing at the time across all fanbases IMO. Under Petrino our fans were as obnoxious as any. Talked a lot of trash to Oklahoma State too. But we also realize we're no where close to being at the point where we can be optimistic about beating a top 5 team.

The strange thing is over the last two years, Arkansas has been a much better road team than a home team. For whatever reason the team just plays flat at home yet competes really well on the road even against LSU, Alabama and Ole Miss.

I forget the year, but the Vols under Dooley drew Arkansas, Alabama and LSU as their SEC West opponents. Georgia got Ole Miss, Mississippi State and Auburn. The Arkansas game was really bad. Nobody in orange could make a tackle that night. Memories like that just make me cherish this team even more.

If we weren’t coming off a bye I’d feel the same way. Feels like a dangerous game but the Vols have had plenty of time to prepare and have fresher bodies
