Insightful thought that UT may pull the starters because a key injury before GA would be a nightmare, but our first half offense has to make an appearance for that to work.

I'd like to be able to see the starters out by the Q4, but MS State, while bad, certainly isn't Kent State bad.

MSU is way better than what their record indicates. Defensively they are bad, but they can score. We haven't been able to take advantages of bad defenses, need to come out and start stronger to have this not turn into a dog fight.

Hate it for them honestly. Never have had anything against Mississippi State, and they'd probably still be solid if Mike Leach hadn't passed. Still miss seeing that guy on the sidelines.

I lived in Mississippi back in the 70's and pulled for State as long as they weren't playing the Vols. There was a guy 3 years older than me in high school and he was a jock but a very nice guy to boot. Sang in the youth church choir with us nerds, My Dad and his were friends, etc. He went to state on scholarship as a kicker until this happened:

It is hard to hate on Mississippi State to be honest. Never had any issues with their fanbase.

Remember way back when they beat Spurrier and the Gators? I really enjoyed that.

I remember when Don Smith beat us back in the Johnny Majors days. Miss State always had big linemen on both sides of the ball, very physical running backs and DBs…they would leave you black and blue win or lose.

Yeah i think this game goes about like the rest of them have. They give us more than we want, then we win. Miss St puts up a fight for a while then Tennessee wears on them. They just don't do pretty, so i'm not expecting it here either.

I don't mind the cowbell after a time it's just white noise in the background. Not nearly as obnoxious as the gator chomp or that friggin rooster crow at uscjr or hawg calling

I wish we could say our previous coach worked so hard it killed him.. Ours all got fired trying to take shortcuts, rather than excelling at their jobs.

Followed Leach pretty closely during his days at Washington State (wife is a Coug alum). He was hoot at press conferences. My impression was he was a highly intelligent man who didn’t much care what anyone else thought. Unique individual.

Been to a lot games in Starkville. Wifey an alum. Oldest is in school down there. State has been my side chick team for about 15 years. They are all good with me.

Truth be told, I have always had a hard time disliking Miss St and wish them well when they are not playing us.

This is business. Get through the game without any injuries and hopefully a UT win. Shake hands and start getting ready for Georgia.
