I feel bad for the MSU faithful. I've never heard or seen anything deplorable coming from their fans, players or coaches like you see from the gators, bama, uga, etc. I love hearing their passion and enthusiasm roaring through those cowbells. They finally got the coach they deserved in Leach and it was way too short-lived. I hope Lebby can turn it around for them. Vols by fiddy.

Nico has him beat in Total Offense, Total yards, Passing avg., Passing efficiency, Pass completions, and Avg passing yards. Way to pick the one stat that confirms your false narrative.
Definitely selective narrative. We have a running back that you can rely on to finish drives so we don’t necessarily need TD passes once inside the red zone. Add Sampson’s 19 TD’s to the TD passes and you get a more realistic idea of productivity. Granted there have been drops and some missed throws that have stalled drives but it’s a joke to infer that the MS St qb is better than Nico because he’s thrown more TD passes.

Hmm...let's see...why could that be? Oh maybe it's that they pass more because they are playing from behind in every game? Maybe it's that they have the 86th ranked rushing offense and run 10 less times per game than we do? Maybe it's that we have an all time great RB in Sampson that's a prolific TD scorer when close the goal line? No couldn't be any of that!
Woah woah woah facts aren’t allowed here.

-We aren't winning another game. That defense couldn't win 2A ball in MS and they've half assed quit it looks like to me.

-Van Buren is showing glimpses of a bright future, but it won't matter against Tennessee, Ole Miss, and Missouri.

-Our program is just in a bad state of emptiness.

-Tennessee fans have been waiting for their offense to break out of a slump and it'll happen Saturday night.

-I think we might actually be able to make this game look okay because Tennessee will pull their starters after half. They have bigger fish to fry when they visit Athens the next weekend.

-I hope Van Buren is ready for that Tennessee defense. It’s crazy nobody in the media really talks about them. That’s the best defense in the country.

-We had our last win against UMASS Saturday, it is what it is.

-I’ve been done with this football season since a few weeks ago.

-I don’t even know anyone that’s going except maybe some of the players parents.

-This one will get ugly pretty fast. Tennessee is just a superior football team.

-I don’t really hate Tennessee. We will lose though.

-Tennessee is a good football team and we’re a bad football team.

-Our defense is about to get shredded by that running back they have.

-A night game in that insanely loud stadium is not good news for us.

-Not a chance

-We will put up a fight for about a quarter and then we’ll slowly drift away out to sea.

-Our schedule sucks man.
Reading those reminds me a lot of this board and our fan base about 5-7 years ago.

If the Vols handle this week right, a lot can get corrected that needs to be corrected and get some confidence where it needs to be on the offensive side of the ball. In particular the WR room. Nico gets the blame for a lot but its not all on his shoulders, as coach has said. WRs are hit in the hands and drop the ball or they're slightly overthrown. Starts at the LOS

I do look for the defense to come out pissed off a little bit, Kentucky is not a good offensive team and they gave up 18 to them. I don't think Miss State gets that much this week.

Get right game on deck

Nico’s pass attempts- 208 attempts

Van Buren- 170 attempts

It’s not a knock on Nico. I wish Heupel would let him throw more.

I truly feel sorry for MSU and their fans. Losing the clown pirate was a huge loss. And then Lebby in his first year as a HC. Tough spot for them.

MSU has a good atmosphere. Fun story back in 2011 a high school friend of mine who went to MSU invited me to sit in the student section with him at the egg bowl. After the game I got to meet Jackie Sherrill. Me wearing maroon (out of respect for my friend) Coach asked me if I was a MSU student I responded No Sir I'm a Tennessee man. He responded Ah, that school that beat me in Atlanta in 98.

I remember when Don Smith beat us back in the Johnny Majors days. Miss State always had big linemen on both sides of the ball, very physical running backs and DBs…they would leave you black and blue win or lose.
1986. I was at that game. Howard doing the hurdle to get a first down and stayed in bounds with the clock running down.

These are the ones I think said it best. Miss State, UGA, Vandy and Florida. Vandy has played out of their minds. UGA was able to overcome so far but, someone at Florida and Mississippi State insulted someone other looking at their schedules. The only thing that Bailed Florida out of having hands down the hardest schedule in the nation is the implosion of FL State. All of them have 5-6 ranked teams on their schedule. Vandy will have laid 4 top 7 teams and LSU. Miss State will likely play 5 top 15 teams and MIssou. They need to call up Texas and ask how to get that sweet schedule-loving. Funny story up till this point our Vols have had the second easiest schedule in the SEC But playing UGA and Vandy will boost that quite a bit. IF vandy can knock off USCe and/or LSU that would be the best Christmas present ever talk about fattening the goose.

For reference I got my SoS stats from here 2024 Resume College Football Power Index - ESPN same place the CFP pollsters would.
