They might be jumping a bit early with this take. I don’t think we prepared at all for Hawkins was the problem, didn’t think we were gonna have to. They definitely weren’t gonna blow us out regardless.

Our defense was gassed by the time Hawkins came in. In a heavyweight fight, even Muhammad Ali would look slow against a fresh newcomer in the 12th round.

-Tennessee will lose 4 games this year. Not impressed.

-Not saying Tennessee isn’t a good team, but not nearly as impressive as what we were sold.

-I’m pissed because Tennessee isn’t even a good team.

I agree. It wasn’t the classic 50+ point performance by our offense, but we had nearly 400 yards of offense. I wouldn’t say that they “shut us down”.

Any comments at this point is OU trying to cover up an A$$ kicking.
TN never trailed in this game.
OU had 32 total rushing yards and 25 minutes in TOP.
TN did not have to pass the ball and if they did it was there. When you drop 8 for protection and run a 3 man route resulting in a huge gain that tells you the pass game is there if needed.
TN did not have to go to the well.

Agreed. It’s not as hard to understand as most want it to be. This game plan was about making the OU offense beat us and our OFFENSE not beat us. And it worked to perfection.

-Hats off to Heupel for the good sportsmanship. Thought he’d run up the score. Glad I was wrong.

-Sooo… the ref with the Tennessee accent was reviewing everything?

-Defense did very well except for some downfield passes to Bru. Heupel knew he had the win so opted to not go for the total kill or at least that's what I think happened in the 2nd half. Hawkins shows to be the next direction.
