What other message boards are saying (Playoff Edition) (Ohio State)

The elevation at the highest point of my property is approximately 1,100 feet above sea-level.

Depending upon where you want to drop the pin, the elevation of Knoxville, Tennessee is very similar.

And the highest elevatioin in the state of Ohio is Campbell Hill at 1,549 feet.

Where I live in Ohio is not flat. I grew up in Elizabethton, Tennessee. Again, the area that I live in looks very similar to East Tennessee without the mountains in distance. Kansas and Nebraska are at the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. Yes the Rocky Mountains dwarft the Appalachian Mountains so it is to be expected that the elevation is higher. I was not comparing Ohio to Kansas or Nebraska. I was stating that the entire state of Ohio is not flat as you stated.
GIS is my background. I like your elevation tints.

As I read through this thread, I note particularly those who chastise OSU for their confidence and cockiness. I daresay many non-Vol fans would say the same about us. Our schedule was favorable and we really scratched and clawed to a lot of wins. I do not think we ought to be as cocky as we are.

I expect a good game, and I expect to win, but cockiness runs through all fanbases, deserved or not.

I spent some time going to college in Athens before transferring to Tennessee. Beautiful college town. Underrated really. Miami Oxford gets all the credit for a nice campus but the hills in Athens, history of the school and its proximity to hocking hills, make it a really nice place to stay.

Best place to get a legendary hot dog and Cajun fries is called oh Betty’s
Hocking Hills is pretty great. Almost a microcosm of the GSMNP.

My wife and I spent our 28th anniversary in Hocking Hills for 4 days at an Air BNB place. The parks are amazing.381017282_10230710614018490_8807815499006811877_n.jpg380888286_10230710503255721_3981810509187200091_n.jpg380350295_10230719248554348_8180649846822159566_n.jpg380283632_10230710668219845_1684421937519846474_n.jpg382576660_10230708485605281_6604134022466997927_n.jpg

Notice how they talk about their tough defense against Big Ten team offenses. The Big Ten might have collectively the worst offenses of all power conferences.
statistically OSU has played slightly better offenses than we have. But so had Iowa defense last year. OSU is too talented to expect the same results as playing Iowa. but I definitely think the stats up there are slanted considering the competition.

They aren't loving Day, who has the yipps vs Michigan, but we have struggled on the road.

Good matchup of two totally different teams.

Isn’t it only like a 3 or 4 degree temperature difference between Columbus and Knoxville this time of year? They act like they play in Siberia.
Yeah of course on any given dau there can be anomalies anywhere. As a whole we are very similar.

Nico needs to hit some deep shots. He has certainly improved as the season has progressed. If he continues it will be awesome for us.

But, now CJH has to take the chains off him if we have a chance at the Title. Nico's running skills has to get mixed in equally w every other facet of our offense. His wheels are the X factor that can make this year's offense lethal. I fully understand protecting him this season. But now, we need Vince Young 2.0. Nico has that!
Agree. Kind of a live or die fight now. Maybe they'll take greater risks.

Could easily be warmer. I live in northeast MO. Recently you all got cold and maybe some snow while we hit 60. I think the prevailing current changes in January making most of Ohio colder but this time of year is a mixed bag.

If they don't let it get in their head... playing in the cold down to about 25 (depending on wind) is pretty comfortable once you get warm.

They think they couldn't run on Michigan but can on us? We rank right up there with Michigan in run defense, we give up 6 more yards a game but play in the SEC. Might have a rude awakening on that front.

"Oklahoma D put out the book on how to stop Tennessee. We just have to follow it."

"Ohio State has the potential to outrush Tennessee and blow them out. Ohio State has played a murderer's row of rush defenses and still managed 5 yds/carry."

"Ryan Day has proven that he needs the better player at all 22 positions to win football games. Gonna be tough because Tennessee might have a
better player at one or two positions."

"Our offensive line won't be manhandled like they were against Michigan either so I expect a little bit more success running the ball..."

These jackwagons obviously haven't watched much football outside their own conference. :po_O

we give up 6 more yards a game on 5.5 more rushes a game.

our defense gives up fewer yards per carry than Michigan does.

I'm curious what the YPC stats are. Michigan stinks and can't throw the ball so I wouldn't be surprised if teams get the lead on them and then run the ball and play defense.

It's going to be way too cold for Tennessee. They won't be able to throw and their rushing offense is mid. We should roll.

I don't why Ohio State acts like we are going to Canada to play. Especially when the Forcast shows it won't be any worse than the Vandy game.

This game comes down to our Defensive showing up. They do that and we win.
They play like they did at Georgia and it's probably a different story.
