Agreed.. We won't be showing anything major until FL IMO
I expect the focus to be on getting the OL fully in sync. They will be evaluating different combinations for both run blocking and qb protection. Long Ball we will take if it is there, but expect a lot of Wright, Small, and Sampson both with run and RPO

-I can’t think of a program that needs to be humbled more than Tennessee. First 10+ win season since 2007 and now their sh*t don’t stink? Coach E will have his young men ready to run through a wall Sept. 2.

-They’ve been good for ONE season and now pimp around like they are Bama.

-Tenn is the most arrogant team in the nation, I can’t wait to beat them by multiple td’s.

I don't understand these comments or where it comes from. Seems like CJH runs a respectful and mature program. They should site their sources (fan comments don't count).

So, Virginia fans haven’t really talked a whole lot on our game this week, but I did manage to find a few nuggets:

-I can’t think of a program that needs to be humbled more than Tennessee. First 10+ win season since 2007 and now their sh*t don’t stink? Coach E will have his young men ready to run through a wall Sept. 2.

-I only wish wish they still had Hendon Hooker so our defense could have made him cry two times in his career.

-I’m sick of the loathing of joe Milton. I’m sick of all the writers treating us as if we are a make a wish team this season. It’s time to line up 11 on 11 and bust someone in the damn mouth.

-We are going to open up a Desert Storm sized keg of whoopass on those overconfident punk Volunteers. Our defense is going to absolutely curbstomp their offense, and the Virginia Cavaliers are going to shock the world.

-I'll cheer for the Hoos while Tennessee spanks us, and i'll cheer for the Hoos while all the other teams spank us as well. Why? Because I support the University of Virginia Football team

-This game is not a fair fight. The talent gap between these teams is significant. Yes, I know that Pitt gave Tenn a really good game last year. And yes, I know that South Carolina picked off the Vols. But let’s be honest and admit that both Pitt and USC-e are well ahead of UVA in terms of pure talent. We are a tier behind those two, who are still a tier behind Tennessee. This game has the potential to be really, really, really ugly.

-They’ve been good for ONE season and now pimp around like they are Bama.

-Tenn is the most arrogant team in the nation, I can’t wait to beat them by multiple td’s.

-I hate to break it to my fellow Cavs, but we’re going to get absolutely mauled.

-I am not looking forward to a 5 TD beat down. I don’t think the tv exposure will be good for fans, recruits or national media.

-This game against Tennessee serves little purpose on paper, but maybe the lads will extract some real value from it.
My favorite thread every season. Thank you for doing this.

I was going to post a comment on that. Yeah I don't see where any Vol players or coaches have talked any trash, smack, whatever it's called today towards VA or anyone else. They must be referring to media hype. Guess we should be happy that we have other teams and fans attention now. New badge of honor.

Joe Milton did say he doesn’t lose in Florida. Hope that one doesn’t come back to bite us 😬

You remember the famous saying " they hate us cause they aint us?". That is basically what is going on. They are pissed that TN managed to find itself again over the past couple years. They are upset that the fans for the most part stayed strong.

I think they're taking about us. We're the obnoxious ones, and I'm ok with it. We've been in the wilderness for far too long.

The thing that interests me most about this game is how many TD's Nico racks up. It should be over well before halftime.

I'm fine with their trash talk. If I was a Virginia fan, now is definitely the time to enjoy the season.

But seriously, we know what an emotional roller coaster ride rebuilding can be until you find the right coach and AD and university president.

Best of luck to the Cadavaliers in their program rebuilding. And to their loyal fans, patience and good tailgating.
And remember... only 5 days left to trash talk.

Edit: Substituting Cadavaliers for Cavaliers is an old word play, going back to the days of the inept, pre-LeBron, Cleveland Cavaliers.

No one said anything to me, but suddenly this morning my mind connected the nickname with the shooting victims at UVA last year. My regret isn't about symbolism or "snowflake" sensibilities. I know I meant nothing. But such tragic wounds don't heal overnight, and if, like me, you aren't in frequent contact with a Virginia alum, it's just not going to occur to you.

So I'm leaving my mistake up as a reminder to any fellow VFLs who will be at or watching the game alongside Virginia fans, that some things we could say normally and harmlessly, might take on a meaning we would never intend. And maybe I was the last to realize that.

GO VOLS!

I live in Virginia about an hour east of Charlottesville. I know many Virginia fans (and many Tech fans). They all “know their place” and are dreading the beat down that is coming. Anyone who doesn’t’, is truly delusional.
What part of VA? I grew up in Fredericksburg.
