What was up with the call on the Fant to Hyatt TD?

I think that play was to get inside Mark Stoops head. Now they will spend precious time in practice trying to defend it and we either won't run it or will run a variation of it.

He is making KY think twice about dbs charging in to stop the perimeter rush.

I think it's to just set up a later player, similar to the speed option being used to set up the shovel pass.

I am most interested to see how Heupel builds off of the I formation. We have given in to the FB on the dive the majority of the time. I'm guessing we will be seeing a fake dive and then a pitch to a RB or Boot by Hooker.

I love how this "gimmick" offense has circled all the way around to smash mouth I formation football and still can't be stopped.

I’m not sure, but from what I saw, Hyatt seemed to be angry with the UTM defender on that play. The DB tried to rip the ball out of Hyatt’s hands, and it continued after Hyatt was out of bounds. Maybe in the process, he hit Hyatt in the chin or something.
I’ll have to watch that again. Thanks

This play will cause Kirby and his DC to burn a little more midnight oil. I have a feeling UK is about to get a taste of it, too, just to cement the possibility of it happening on Nov 5 into Kirby's mind. :)
