Whats Next?/What is this country coming to? (merged)

I think, in a true democracy, the county could vote on these matters. This would centralize all the loonies to .... Droski-land (California). No offense Droski, you'd be welcome in my county.

So what ever the law says, good or bad, its ok? Just because a judge with a robe says so? What happens if Child Molestation becomes law, will you say "We go by laws in this country"?

No, I'm saying the law is the law. Opinions are not.

If the Supreme Court sets the precedent, well yeah, that's the way it is, barring appeal or a more specific ruling.

If your silly hypothetical becomes law, no I wouldn't support that. Luckily we have more sense in this country for that to happen, so I have no worries.

As to "silly hypothetical", maybe you should pry into NAMBLA and some of the folks they have. Look into their court dealings.

As to "we have sense" in this country, about 54% don't, they elected Obama.:)

NAMBLA is all about freedom, its great before their 8!

How does that prove that the law should be interpreted by opinions? No judge is going to declare the innocence of a pedo because of NAMBLA's opinions, just like Pat Henry's personal opinions are meaningless.

well when the guy the builds your car tells you how to run it, you listen because he built it. same principle

Lets see.... enough liberal judges are appointed to the court who see things differently than normal people?? They inturpete the law they way they see it?? How could you not see the unforeseeable not happening?? It may make personal opinions meaningful.

Ah, I see, this is about liberal vs conservative to you.

Again, we go by laws, not by non-related opinions. Now go argue this with someone else because obviously it's over your head or you just want to sling mud.

laws are interpreted based upon the opinions of the supreme court

I don't see how I'm slinging mud. Just stating facts. If you don't believe that things could change, just look at what the good folks in Hollywood are saying about Roman Polanski! (sp) They want to welcome him back like a rock star, he only raped a minor and gave her pills to do it. It seems to me they condone this type of behavior. Much they same as NAMBLA wants to do. There are people out there with different values than the average American.

Hollywood's the law now? Interesting.

well what better way to interpret the document then to look at the people who wrote it?

who better to ask about shakespere then shakespere?

what does Patrick Henry have to do with building the Constitution?

As I've already posted, I know. I was responding to moronic, unrelated hypotheticals meant to distract from the point at hand. Anything beyond the law is irrelevant.

see thats where you have to look at American Political Theory. According the the Constitution, that document that is supposed to be surpeme above all, the laws are to protect, not limit the people

You shold have read to the end of the post!!

Can you show me where I said Hollywood is the law? Or are you just reading what you want to? Interesting, You intrupting my post to say what you want it to say, not what it says! Kind of like the law.
