What's the Deal with the USC Attraction Factor?!?

All that, plus the fact that you can recruit and the Pac 12 is still kind of there for the taking. Oregon is a good program who you have to compete with but that's really about it at the moment. Plus, their boosters don't gang up and try and fire you there after one bad season.

The beautiful women and the fact that Southern California is really only competing with UCLA for most California prospects on a regular basis makes that a very attractive job yearly.

It’s getting beyond insane. I foresee college becoming the nfl. It’s all about money.
It's simply reflecting the amount of money that the sport brings in now. The TV contracts are insane as well, but they are where they are because the networks can sell the advertising for a tremendous amount of money, because that many eyeballs (in other words, me and you) want to watch it.

Any activity that brings in this amount of money is inevitably going to be all about the money. College football hasn't been a quaint, intramural-type sport in probably about 50 years, and definitely not in the last 20. It definitely has a quaint past, which is why this amount of money in the sport makes people uncomfortable, but this has been all about the money for a long time.

Dang.

I am assuming that is over ten years or so?

$6 million house in LA huh. Probably going to be quite a bit smaller than his $1 million house in Norman.

Sounds like he had 2 houses, that were about 500,000 each. That would get you a garage in cali.... maybe not a two car, but none the less... it keeps the mountain lions off your back.

Is California One Of The Happiest States In The Country?

Happiness may be a state of mind, but happiness also depends on your state. While not the happiest state in the country, Californians are among the happiest in the United States, according to a new study by WalletHub.

The study compared the 50 states across 28 different categories – ranging from depression and suicide rates to sleep and sports participation – to determine where people are most happy. California ranked as the fourth happiest state in the country, according to the personal finance website's report, which looked at three main criteria: emotional and physical well-being, work environment, and community and environment.

The analysis ranked only Minnesota, Utah and Hawaii ahead of California. Nebraska came in after California, rounding out the top five happiest states, according to the study.

Can’t believe there aren’t any comments about the most startling statement above: Minnesota. Really? That tells you right there this study is fake news. Just no way anyone could be happy living in Minnesota.

Taxes, crime, cost of living, insane traffic congestion, smog, and crazy people. (I lived there for 8 years. Scenery, geography, entertainment, and climate are great though.)

All issues if you're a normal person, but a much lesser issue when you make over $10 million per year and the university buys you a $6 million house.

And in reality, you deal with less "crazy people" as coach of USC than you do as coach of any SEC school (other than Vandy).

I kind of tuned out when they mentioned Nebraska.

I had to "live" there for three months one time while working on a project. I was very happy-when the plane took off to take me home.

People seemed miserable there. Friendly mind you and for the most part good people, don't get me wrong.

Here's a little secret for you and only old schoolers realize. My name was established when Derrick Dooley was hired, and I decided I needed to live with it afterwards, so I had to do something productive with it.

Also, I prefer seventies boobs.
I too have chosen to live with poor “name decisions” based upon former regime haha

And SC kids go to the best HTown parties, get featured in national media alot since LA is an international media center. Not to mention an Atlanta dime is an LA 7. I lived there about 15 years throughout the South Bay from as far north as Venice Beach to as far South as Redondo Beach. The place recruits itself. I think the demographics has changed has Tennessee has gotten an influx of people the last ten years or so, BUT while I was there LA County by itself had as many people living there as the whole state of Tennessee had.

Charleston, SC has all of that for a much lower tax rate and a far cheaper state to live in. Not to mention that’s the smallest ass on a woman I’ve seen in a while lol

The first time is goes negative is a major red flag. Especially when you consider immigration.
There was very little immigration because the whole world locked down.

California has a multitude of problems, and more people are leaving that state than ever before, but it is still such a magnet for people in a variety of ways that I doubt they consistently lose population over a long period of time.
