Where are the rest of Romney's Tax returns ?

On the Morning Joe show this morning, Joe Scarborough and Michael Steele think Romney needs to address this and get behind him.

I respect Joe's opinion. He seems to be " in the know"

They were saying he does have a problem with this. The SEC filings signed by Romney are legal documents which contradicts what Romney and his campaign have been claiming. That is if they actually exist.

They seem to think he needs to sit down and do an interview and address this, if not it won't go away.

Mika and all the libs on the show were talking a lot of bs as usual.

I got hammered by some of the hardcore GOP members of the board yesterday after making the above post.

It appears that Scarborough and Steele knew what they were talking about.

Romney did 5 interviews yesterday concerning the Bain issue.

This is a pretty good line. "McCain saw 23 years of Romney's tax returns and instead picked Palin as his running mate."

O'Malley: McCain Saw Romney's Tax Returns And He Chose Palin

If Romney would give 23 years' worth in being vetted to be VP, why won;t he let the American people see the last ten years' worth?

I think this is going to be a far bigger problem for him than most people realize and his advisers are willing to admit. They are going to just hammer him on it. And if he does release them and he's stowing money away overseas to avoid taxes .... Could get ugly for him.

And now its getting worse and worse for him. Bill Kristol on Fox News Sunday says he needs to release them. So did a former Bush administration official, who is now outwardly speculating that there must be a problem.

Some Republicans also began pushing Romney to release for tax information over the weekend, saying it would be politically savvy to release the information to avoid a drawn-out fight with Democrats.

"He should release the tax returns tomorrow. It's crazy," conservative columnist Bill Kristol said on "Fox News Sunday." "You gotta release six, eight, 10 years of back tax returns. Take the hit for a day or two."

On ABC, former George W. Bush aide Matthew Dowd made similar remarks, saying of Romney's tax returns, "There's obviously something there, because if there was nothing there, he would say, 'Have at it.'"

ABC News’ George Will slammed presumptive Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney for failing to fully release information on his tax returns and offshore accounts, saying Romney “must have calculated that there are higher costs in releasing them.” ABC News political analyst Matthew Dowd agreed, saying “there’s obviously something there” in Romney’s returns that he doesn’t want public.

“If something’s going to come out, get it out in a hurry,” Will said this morning on the “This Week” roundtable. “I do not know why, given that Mitt Romney knew the day that [John] McCain lost in 2008 that he was going to run for president again that he didn’t get all of this out and tidy up some of his offshore accounts and all the rest.” “He’s done nothing illegal, nothing unseemly, nothing improper, but lots that’s impolitic,” Will added. “And he’s now in the politics business.”

Will said Romney is “losing [the argument] at this point in a big way” in the debate over his tax returns, which the Obama campaign has hammered on in the past week. “The cost of not releasing the returns are clear,” Will said. “Therefore, he must have calculated that there are higher costs in releasing them.”

this is such a manufactured controversy. Any way to avoid discussing the economy I guess

Romney pulled this same thing during the primaries. As stupid as I think this whole thing is, he really ought to just get it out of the way and be done with it so he can force Obama back into a discussion of the economy.

Someone running for POTUS based on how much better he will run the economy based on his personal business success looks pretty bad when he won't disclose the success.

And actually, if memory serves, he said he would consider releasing more later. Guess he has chosen against doing so.

For some reason.

Why is that now a requirement? The one you voted for had no track record of success anywhere and has been a failure since taking office.

The reason is obvious. He makes a lot of money and knows that the second he releases the returns, they become fodder for days of stories from the wealth envy crowd.

Its like comparing cars at dealerships across the street from one another. If the second salesman tells you that the car he offers is more comfortable and faster than the first, wouldn't you be a little suspicious if he doesn't let you test drive it or even look under the hood?

Then, as George Will says, release it and take the hit and let them have their week of whining over it.

By not releasing, you let them whine AND raise suspicion that there is more to it than just the sum of money involved.

Seems like that is what Will, Kristol, and other conservative commentators are now starting to think is really what's going on here. I guarantee you that the rumor mill is running red hot right now in GOP circles. We're going to start hearing about it soon, anyway.

we test drove Obama's car and it broke down 2 miles into the test drive and is now on blocks in the alley. I'm not buying either one but I'd still choose a possible working one over the one I know sucks. I don't need the Carfax for that

Did you see how pathetic his most recent attempt to deflect this was? He told Fox that McCain only released a couple and that John Kerry's wife didn't release hers. WTF is this guy thinking?

So weak.

Obama is a much better deflector

odd that you didn't have these issues with the first car, when you knew damn well it was all paint job.

The rumors within the GOP are now swirling that Romney would quit the campaign before producing any more returns.

Abby Huntsman: Romney's Tax Returns Could Cost Him the Election

How do you square that with the fact that he produced 23 years to McCain and how do you square that with his earlier pledge to consider releasing more?

Also, two more GOPers calling for him to release more: Alabama Governor Robert Bentley and former Miss Governor Haley Barbour.

This is getting worse by the hour.

You're getting into troll territory here

Ha, well, that line is often blurry, and I've noticed tends to shift a bit when one doesn't like the content of the other's posts ...

Seriously, though, if it is true that Romney is drawing a line and would rather quit than release more returns, that is pretty worrisome, I would think.

Meh, convention hasn\'t happened yet. There's still time.
