Where is this "expert recruiter"?

This proves nothing, it is news based on an opinion of a sportswriter who gets paid to generate stories to spark sells.

I guess your one who waited until the goverment announced there was a recession before you believed it.

no i saw it coming in 2001 and positioned myself to ride it out.but thanks for asking :hi:

who says you have to lie?

"Plans have not been finalized as to who will remain on staff, but I believe they will hire someone very capable of developing your talent if I am not chosen to remain. You will be in good hands. They hired me didn't they?"

He's paid to coach and bring in recruits to UT, not the U of Stan Drayton.

But he's not paid to mis-lead recruits no matter how you spin it.

Who's to say thats not how he stated it? Everyone is going by a generalized statement from a 17 yr old that changed his mind. You can't say for certain how he left it with Giles. But if he felt he needed to be honest with the kid how can anyone fault him with that? Regardless with how he stated it.

a---2-1/2
b---bad
c---no
d---monte and carroll go way back and in no way would he disrespect his kid.by the way,he told al davis the same thing :p

a typical response from someone without the Cajones to say anything logical. Your response to D is laughable and proves nothing just like your idiotic answers when someone asks you questions for solid answers towards your perspective. Your approach of cheap shots at a man who has yet to coach his first game here is a true revelation of your ignorance of coaches based on age.

General Neyland - 34 when hired with no college HC experience.
Doug Dickey - 32 when hired with no college HC experience.
Urban Meyer - 37 when hired with no college HC experience
Mark Richt - 41 when hired with no college HC experience
Bob Stoops - 39 when hired with no college HC experience

Will CLK become the next coaching sensation? it is unknown. What is known is he is alot more qualified for the job then you are and for that reason alone you should show more respect whether he wins or loses. Your cheap shots on his age is ridiculous, your reference about his daddy coming is childish. My dad passed away 26 yrs ago and I would have loved to had him around for advice in my business. Do you ask your dad for advice? or are you Mr Know It All?

How is that misleading by recruiting the kid to the University? It's what he is paid for.

Drayton didn't talk to Giles for a week and a half after the ouster according to http://www.volnation.com/forum/tennessee-vols/60777-stan-drayton-dead-me.html .

With something that big that you know could affect a recruit's commitment, you react damn quicker than that if you're a good recruiter.

The honesty thing has been covered prior by others that I agree with.

Well done.

He could have still sold UT without lying. He could have sold recruits on the fact that we are UT, we will bring in a great staff, and if I'm such a great recruiter/coach then they will keep me.. He chose to tell Giles that UT might not be the best situation and encouraged him to explore other options. At that point, how would Drayton have know what would be the best for Giles without knowing who we're brining in? He was looking to use a highly touted recruit as leverage for a job and that's not particularly honest.

Where are you getting that he definitively told Giles "that UT might not be the best situation and encouraged him to explore other options"?

He is still on the staff, right? Did I miss where Kiffin dismissed him?

Do you honestly believe that if he in fact told Giles that he should look else where, that Kiffin would retain him, even in the short term?

"Pretty much, [Drayton] told me to look at Option B," said Giles, who plans to enroll at his chosen school in January. "He didn't want me to get caught up in this mess." For Giles, Option B is either South Carolina, Clemson or Boston College, with the Gamecocks holding the edge.

Too late, Tennessee Vols and Phil Fulmer finally part ways - Andy Staples - SI.com

Maybe they are just stupid like you called me and several other people..They most likely aren't but I'm sure you will fit it in somewhere..

Sorry you keep getting left out on everyone's list of Kiffin-bashers. It must hurt to post drivel of similar quality to PosiVol's and 5150's and still not get recognized for it.

Btw, you guys could form a He-Man-Kiffin-Haters group so as to not be overlooked.

Kiffin won't retain him. Drayton has whiffed on his opportunities to be retained. Kiffin also won't cut off his nose to spite his face. If there are recruits that Drayton can bring in while he's still here then Kiffin will make use of him. Look it up if you don't believe that Drayton told Giles to look at other options.

no need to look it up, I already posted the proof for him. :)
