I was alive but way too young to remember or even care. So I don't really count it.

This will be try #5 for me as a Vol fan.

1991 - lost to Alabama
2009 - lost to Miss. St.
2018 - lost to Kentucky
2019 - lost to Auburn
2022 - ???

2009 is the most disappointing IMO.

The Vols last SEC Tournament title, 1979. Were you born yet?

If you watched the game, what do you remember?

We seldom got to see the games back in the day. It was John Ward or nothing. I don't remember where I was, but I was a Senior in High School. It sure seemed like we were going to continue off the success of the Ernie and Bernie days.

It was Don Devoe's first year as coach. He had some early success, but he hated the 3 point shot. A lot of players also thought he was too much of a disciplinarian. It was mostly downhill, with the occasional good year, after that. That's how I remember it, at least.

No. He didn’t like the 3-pointer, but it arrived about 6 years later. Michael Brooks would have been every bit of a Chris Lofton if he had played with one.

One of my favorite players ever. He could miss shots all game long, but when the game was on the line, he was deadly from deep. Yes, I think if he'd had the 3 point shot, he would be a Tennessee legend.

Brooks and Tyrone Beaman were a great guard duo. Tony White and Fred Jenkins. Lofton and Smith. Hahn and Justus. England and Edwards (or England and Johnston if the same class).

I was 32 and remember the game but no particulars other than I believe we had the same experience that Aggies hope to have tomorrow. Do not believe we were remotely expected to win and had to play from day one.
