Obviously the SEC has some great QB's, and I think a lot of UT fans feel Worley is not very good. Personally I am not among them, I think Worley hit his stride and became a pretty legit QB, but just for perspective, which SEC QB's that will be playing next year (that's actually gotten significant playing time) would you rather have?

A. Jeff Driskell - FLA
B. Max Smith - KY
C. Matt Mauk - Mizz
D. Dylan Thompson - SC
E. Dak Prescott - MS State
F. Patton Robinette- Vandy
G. All of the above
H. None of the above

I'm sure there's more but that's all I can think of at the time that will for sure be back next year.

Ouch. :eek:lol:

Its true how does anyone know, you can evaluate high school film all day still doesnt mean it will translate to SEC football. I hear people say he tore it up in practice this fall, ok well who didnt tear up our defense this fall?

Oh I know. No one knows anything about where RF is right now. It's just the matching tattoo remark was snarky/funny.

If i had to guess right now based on what we know about all 4 QB's on the roster and what has been shown I would say worley is the starter

I hate threads like this. You know recruits and players read the forums from time to time. I will not let one of the players read about how I would like to have someone else at QB.

I'd take most other QBs over Worley. If "hitting his stride" means barely completing over 50% of his passes, for around a 5 yard average per completion, and just a single touchdown...while being the exception to what was the norm, which was about the same completion percentage and yards per catch, yet with way more interceptions than touchdowns...then yeah, you would do better with most other D1 QBs.

Incidentally, does anyone have the 2nd half stats for the South Carolina game? If Worley was really hitting his stride, he should have been at his best then, but I seem to recall him being pretty mediocre minus North's 2 spectacular catches.

I guess you could stick you head in the sand and pretend we had a good one last year.

This is a top 10 winning college football program. If you come here expecting unconditional love, you should just stay on the scout team. People are going to criticize, it's just part of it.

Now the death threat crap that apparently has gone on in the recent past is completely inexcusable.

Mauk looked pretty good against us, and fared well this season. I think of the above he's the best. JMO.

Just looked up Worley's finish to the South Carolina game (which is where he was supposedly hitting his stride, right?). 5 of his last 8 drives were 3 and outs. That's not very good.

Justin Worley was 19/34 for 179 yds 1 TD 0 INT that game.

Of the 179 yds, 87 yds came from miraculous catches by Marquez North (1 for 48yds to the 16yd line, 1 for 39yds to the 26yd line). Both of these catches set up FG's which ultimately won the game.

Without those miraculous catches he is 17/32 for 92yds 1 TD 0 INT. That is not good...

1. Riley Ferguson
2. Josh Dobbs
3. Peterman by a coin flip

Worley and Dobbs had practically an all freshman receiver corps along with a converted QB and RB to go with a wounded TE throw to. I doubt many of the listed QBs would have done much better throwing to that group.

Just tabulated his 2nd half against South Carolina. He was 8 of 17 for 123 yds (87 of those yds came on North's 2 catches) with no touchdowns. He had four 3-and-outs in the second half. How can numbers like those give so many people here confidence that Worley has improved significantly, "hit his stride", and/or is a legitimate starting Div.1 QB? I just don't get it.

He improved in the sense that he didn't lose us the game with INT's. He has thus far shown me nothing (personally) that makes me think he can be a star. He can at best aspire to be a serviceable game manager.

You can play all of the woulda, shoulda, coulda games you want and drag up anything to try to prove a point. There were probably some dropped passes, missed blocks, bad routes run or any number of things that could offset your "brilliant" analysis. We will never know.

If a frog had wings he wouldn't bump his azz when he lands.

Yes and I guess if you had a brain you'd be capable of such "brilliant analysis" as you call it.

I dont think worley is an "SEC" caliber QB, Ferguson may be the 2nd coming of a certian #16 but we havent seen Ferguson play. So given the 3 we have seen play I would say Worley is probably the best option with dobbs a close 2nd only because he gives a small run threat

I enjoy reading your posts and I have a question for you. I realize that tradition is important to some players, but how we performed in 1951 is becoming less and less important. Even the Sugar Bowl win versus Miami is becoming like a black and white tv. I think tradition to recruits now really means how we have played in the last decade or 2 decades tops. Do you agree and what is your take on the issue?
