Who covers Wall when we play the kitty-kats?

Jeez, you guys want to quit already? Glad you all aren't coaches. Look, we beat Cal's best team on the road with Jordan Howell guarding Derrick Rose for half the game. Stop acting as if this Kentucky team is the second coming of the Bulls. They still haven't played a really good team yet. UConn and Carolina are great names, but they've both definitely struggled this year.

Pearl has always been able to gameplan for Cal's teams and I don't see why this year should be any different.

If UT had beaten UNC and UConn already this year, and someone said "UT hasn't beaten a really good team yet", you'd go ballistic.

Come on now. Even a Spinmaster like yourself can not possibly believe that.

You have got to be kidding? They have beat 2 really good teams. We have not beat a good team yet. And who said we are quiting, recognizing reality is not quiting. Those guys are really good.

No one. The guy has the best game of the season on a national stage at Madison Square Garden against a great team. As Dickie V would say, "are you kidding me".
By the way, did anyone notice how Coach Cal has tied Coach Crook:))) I mean Rupps record for 9-0. Like him or not, his teams always perform.I was upset at Cal for leaving Memphis but not anymore. It's just business. That's all it is. Like Meyer and Saban, going after the dollars to take care of the family. I can leave or take Cal I'm just saying.

KY is very solid. I can see them going to the final four, I'd say they at least make it to the elite 8. Wall will light us up. Who on our team plays defense?

That UK team is at worst a final four team, rather we like it or not. And I don't like it at all.

They look good no doubt. But final four teams don't let teams go on scoring streaks like last night when Wall went to the bench. Especially when that team has absolutely zero 3 point threats. And really not much of an inside scoring threat.

They have some issues to deal with before they are a lock to get there in my book.

They're still a dangerous team, and no one can deny that.

Ha! This whole discussion of the Final Four is hilarious. I have watched all of the teams ranked above KY and none of them have quality of wins that KY does at this point.

Winning ugly? Villanova looks like they would get destroyed by KY right now. They are a team I wish TN could play because they look much better with their ranking than they are playing.

Kansas has tons of talent but is not clearly superior to KY, same for Texas.

The truth is that the Final Four is not clear at all this year like it was last year, and there is not a dominant team like North Carolina was.

Kentucky, Michigan State, North Carolina, UConn, Villanova, Texas, Kansas, Purdue, West Virginia, Syracuse, Duke, even Gonzaga if they continue to improve all look like they could be in the Final Four potentially this year.

If Tennessee beats Kansas and if Florida beats Syracuse, no conference in the country including the Big East will have as many OOC wins against potential Final Four teams as the SEC and it is laughable at this point to suggest that UK is not one of the leading contenders for the Final Four.

Their best players aside from Patrick Patterson are freshmen who will improve as the year goes along. Cousins when he becomes less boy and more man will be a force down low with P Pat. I believe TN could beat UK, but I know for certain that TN has at least 2 less potential NBA stars on their roster than UK.

I don't buy that at all. They might get there, but they aren't that quality today.

Wall will get them to atleast the final four. He could probably start on just about every team in the NBA tonight and average 20. We don't have anyone to guard him, I am scared he will put up 40 on us.

Agreed.

Kansas beats us by a smooth 15 points right now. Come March, it could be a different story though.

I've seen some comments in this thread that if I didn't know any better, I would think I was back in one of the delusional Kentucky message boards. Where we are going undefeated and winning 19 straight NCAA titles.

BS. People are only "spinmasters" here if they defend Pearl. I've never even said UT is a Final Four team or anything of the sort and I am much more level headed than the always negative, critical crew.

As far as UConn and UNC, like I said, they are good names, but are top 15-20 teams this year, not top 5. I doubt either makes it past the Sweet 16, if they get that far.

So, yes, they are good teams, but not really good teams. Purdue is better than either of them. Kentucky has played a couple of good teams, but not any really good teams. Plus, I haven't seen them on the road yet.

Considering this, I'm not going to get my panties in a wad, yet, nor am I going to say they are a Final Four team, "at worst", which is just ridiculous. I'll withhold judgment.

Kansas is better right now, but you all have more upside. You both will be 1 seeds, so both of you can and probably will get to the final four.

Have you watched them at all? Wall is the best player in the country. Patterson and Cousins are really good post players and they are really deep.

Playing UConn in MSG is like a road game.

If we beat both UNC and UConn you would be in here telling anyone who would listen how great we are.

Man, calm down, it's December. If there's one thing to criticize about message boards, it's that people are too day to day. The Vols look sloppy and uninterested for a couple of games, they will struggle; they beat UNCA by 75, they will go to the Final Four. It's a marathon, not a sprint and what happened the last week coupld change quickly.

What if Kentucky lays an egg Saturday in Indiana? Will they still "probably" get to the Final Four? Who knows. We still need a longer time frame and I still don't see a reason to crown Kentucky in the SEC yet, nor crap my pants at the thought of them. I've seen Tennessee beat better teams than the one I saw last night in MSG. I've also seen us lose to teams like this Kentucky team.

Regardless, Kentucky, yes, is a good team, but not a Final Four quality team as of now. Wall is a player, but I could've told you that two years ago. Cousins could be on the same level, or implode at any moment. I'm just curious to see how they deal with the pressure and top level teams.

As I said, though, it's December and a lot, A LOT will change before March.

Why does everyone keep saying this? That's not my m.o.
I'm the one who criticizes people for finding the negative in everything and ragging on the team and players with stuff like "tanning bed". I'm not the one who says we're going to the Final Four because we beat the dog piss out of UNCA.

UNC and UConn, this year, are good, not great wins. Had we beaten Purdue, I think that would've trumped those wins. Regardless, I am far more realistic than being just some pickle puffer for our accomplishments.

well... only for the well coached teams... our guys will likely have that glazed over look in their eyes again come march... promptly chucking the ball out of bounds in key possessions or jacking up wild 3's. who knows... maybe tyler will make his first start at the point in round 1.
