I think he's there until the end of season, then gone. There's no way to successfully recruit with an interim coach and no one worth having would leave at this point in the season.

Napier stays this year but if I were Josh I'd make sure to say "Hi" to a few Florida players after our game with a casual "Keep in touch" thrown in there.

I've said before that I think they'll have to choose from the B List. Golesh would probably take it, Aranda is on the hot seat at Baylor, I don't know much about Fisch but he's in that second tier.

Drink, Kiffin, and Leipold are too smart to risk Florida until they can be sure of the support from higher up the ladder.
If they lose to UCF after this upcoming bye, he won't coach against Tennessee.

Nobody wants to walk into the slop fest at UF. The entire university is in shambles.
They are just 1 HC hire from making everything right again. See Tennessee in 2021, Alabama in 2007...there are other examples.

Unfortunately they are probably on the verge of getting new blood in there at multiple levels that could create some alignment. They are in the process of searching for the new President, and I bet the AD Stricklin and Billy are canned simultaneously. That should sound very familiar to Tennessee fans.

That's a complete disaster for recruiting. Having an interim coach for half the season and no decent coach is going to announce "I'm going to FL next year, sorry team" in the middle of a season so recruits would be flying blind into Gainesville.

I know the portal helps repair damage quickly but Florida had NIL issues previously.

I mean, I'm all for it if they fire him because it will probably kneecap them for a year or two unless they are lucky like UT was and find a strong AD who can get the admins, boosters, and coaches on the same page pretty fast.

In your opinion, Who do you think should or will be the next HC at Florida? Here are some options. When I looked at multiple websites, these five names were the ones that came up the most.

I think Kiffin will stay at Mississippi because of his daughter and I think Drinkwits could potentially be a dark horse favorite for this job.

Keeping Billy in that spot is also a disaster for recruiting. They need new AD and President who can help address their NIL difficulties. They probably need to get a head start on a new coach, preferably one who could bring a good QB with him.

Everything people are saying in this thread is the same stuff people were saying about us before Boyd/Plowman/White/Heupel were hired. They are in a really bad spot right now, but it is recoverable, especially for a school like UF.

My 2 bits:

Kiffin isn't leaving. There are too many reasons for him to stay right not that have already been discussed in the thread.

Drink isn't leaving. He's making 9 mil at Mizzou where he has none of the pressure or expectations of Florida. His NIL seems to be good and he has a top 10 team with good recruits coming in. The state Florida is in might not be a move up for him at this time.

Fisch isn't leaving. It's his first year at Washington. Only a sleaze ball would leave a team after 1 year to take his dream job. And if he does that, I hope it goes horribly wrong for him and he gets fired and then has to spend several years as an OC to attempt to rebuild his career.

This leaves Golesh and Liepold. UF has said they want an established P5 coach, so that would rule out Golesh, although I think he is the best candidate of the 5.

This would leave Liepold. I'm not convinced he's the guy. He's certainly turned Kansas around. If you can rebuild that program, it's a pretty good indication of the type of coach you are. That still doesn't mean he takes the job.

I don't hear any talk about Bobby Petrino. I know that everyone thinks he is next in line for the Arkansas gig (again), but what if Florida offered him?
