Who do you think will replace Franklin at Vanderbilt?

They will end up with a coordinator from a middle of the pack team from the acc. Although they are claimiing they are gonna drop 5 mil a year on a big name coach like jim mora jr. Which isnt happening.

Franklin has nuked Vandy. He has out Kiffined Kiffin.
It is going to be a tough sell to get someone to take over this dumpster fire. Take Chad Morris for instance, successful offensive coordinator looking for his first head coaching gig ( I assume ). Would you risk your coaching career on a team losing 18 seniors , a recruiting class that is falling apart, less than stellar fan support, less than stellar facilities, and in the most brutal football conference ?

Most go to Vandy to watch their careers die.

Franklin went and benefited from a horrible SEC East and the best WR numbers wise in SEC history. That's huge.

Bobby Johnson redshirted everybody too. He walked into a great situation. Weak out of conference schedules helped as well. People act like he regularly beat top ten teams. He did good for Vanderbilt. Yes that is a backhanded compliment.

someone this morning called 102.5 the game Nashville and stated that Gary Patterson was interested in leaving TCU for Vandy...

Matthews caught 15 passes his FR year. I'm pretty sure Franklin had something to do with his success in the last 3 years. Kid was a playmaker and it was the coaches' job to get the ball to him...they did.

It's not a backhanded compliment. How many other coaches succeeded at Vandy? You have to go back to pre-integration, leather helmets, etc.

Right now, it looks as though there are three primary names that Vanderbilt is considering closely

- Derek Mason, Stanford Defensive Coordinator
- Chad Morris, Clemson Offensive Coordinator
- Mark Hudspeth, Louisiana-Lafayette Head Coach

And i'm not 100% convinced any of those names in the end, would bite that bullet. I think Vandy will be taking shots in the dark by the end of this.

Then again...I was wrong on Strong to Texas AND Franklin to PSU. I'm not doing so well on the carousel this year.

When I kept seeing mason's name, I was thinking the former Titans WR lol

Chad Morris should wait. He could do better if he waits it out. Vandy is going to steuggle next year even if the schedule is easy.

SIAP, in reference to the AD in the coaching search.

Williams: right candidates "need to understand Vanderbilt, who we are and what we want to be." Person who "fits" VU, not just a good coach.

So...they are looking for a doctor or lawyer (understanding of who we are and want to be) and not just a coach? You know where this is heading lol

Hudspeth would be the best, IMO.

Mason could be a good one, but how much of that defense is Shaw?

I think Morris would struggle without Clemson type talent.

All would leave after 3 seasons, if they were any good.
