Believe that's what I heard! If so, then there goes Vandy's 4 good bowl years down the drain and back to mediocrity. If they win 7 under Dooley, I'll be surprised.
Franklin has nuked Vandy. He has out Kiffined Kiffin.
It is going to be a tough sell to get someone to take over this dumpster fire. Take Chad Morris for instance, successful offensive coordinator looking for his first head coaching gig ( I assume ). Would you risk your coaching career on a team losing 18 seniors , a recruiting class that is falling apart, less than stellar fan support, less than stellar facilities, and in the most brutal football conference ?
Franklin went and benefited from a horrible SEC East and the best WR numbers wise in SEC history. That's huge.

Bobby Johnson redshirted everybody too. He walked into a great situation. Weak out of conference schedules helped as well. People act like he regularly beat top ten teams. He did good for Vanderbilt. Yes that is a backhanded compliment.
Right now, it looks as though there are three primary names that Vanderbilt is considering closely
- Derek Mason, Stanford Defensive Coordinator
- Chad Morris, Clemson Offensive Coordinator
- Mark Hudspeth, Louisiana-Lafayette Head Coach
When I kept seeing mason's name, I was thinking the former Titans WR lolRight now, it looks as though there are three primary names that Vanderbilt is considering closely

Williams: right candidates "need to understand Vanderbilt, who we are and what we want to be." Person who "fits" VU, not just a good coach.
