Who do you think will replace Franklin at Vanderbilt?

I could see Morris being slightly interested.

But do you think he'd stay? I just think this close to signing day it's going to be someone like Rick Stockstill. I see them throwing out figures like 5 million. Vandy is not going to pay anybody 5 million bucks when they can't even fill a 40-something-thousand seat stadium.

I would think Schiano would be the first guy contacted. Did a good job at a similar type school. Jim McElwain would be another good hire IMO.

Schiano huh? Interesting. Never thought about him or McElwain until now. Would be solid hires.

Oh hell no. That school will always be a "stepping stone gig"

Wow. That is astronomical for an OC. thanks for the info.

Clemson offensive coordinator Chad Morris still remains another possible candidate for that top position on Strong's list, though his buyout is a major impediment. By the language of the contract that he signed in 2011, Morris "must pay Clemson a buyout equal to the sum of his annual total compensation multiplied by the years remaining on his contract."

Since his contract runs through 2017 and he makes $1.3 million a year, the buyout would be $5.2 million this year.

Not sure how accurate, but that's where I saw it. Didn't want to provide false info.

I've seen names like Jim Mora and Kliff Kingsbury being thrown about on vandymania and some of them actually believe it's a possibility. Get real... I'm doubting they could even sway David Cutliffe or Mike Leach. I imagine they'll end up with someone who is currently an OC/DC coordinator, HC in a smaller conference or is currently unemployed. Why they think they have the pull to take coaches from prgrams on par with them let alone bigger/better programs is mind boggling. They're delusional.

Delusional Vandymania posters are talking about 49'ers defensive line Coach Jim Tomsula as a possible candidate for the VU Head Coaching gig.

dont know much about him but I could see a nfl position coach taking a gig like Vandy...better pay and job security overall.

What about Houston Nutt? He has been around the block a time or two and fits the traditional Vandy mode of hiring washed up coaches.

I might be talking crazy but does anyone think Schiano would take a look at it. I know its Vandy but it is still the SEC. Seems like a good stepping stone until something better comes along ... I mean it worked for Franklin.

Cutcliffe is 59(born September 1954):hi:

Thanks. At that age it's hard for me to picture him packing up and heading elsewhere especially with what he's built at Duke. Duke would've smashed UT & Vandy in 2013 - can't believe I just typed that but it's a testament to the caliber coach he is.
