Hey hoss, i just want the best coach for UT. That is not Strong. Strong should be 4th or 5th on the list.
Patterson should be forced to say no before anyone else is even contacted imo. Then, Shaw, Fedora, Strong. imho

So just because someone disagrees with you, they should go pull for bama? Real nice guy.

How has it gotten worse? This recruiting season is nowhere close to being over. It wont matter he wont be at Louisville to see this yrs signing class he will be at UT putting the wraps on a top 1010 class. When you are limited on talent and trying to rebuild a program you have to take chances on the field. I dont understand the hate for him.
Oh and to answer the defensive thing they rank 26 in total defense in the nation. Will take that all day from a team as young as they are and with 11 total Srs!

Hey guy you need to check your stats before you ramble off stuff. Louis has a very young team and #26 total defense in the nation. You may wanna do a complete check first Guy.

Don't know how good of a recruiter Strong is but he probably is the best defensive mind available

One more thing Daddy they are 73#and in recruiting so far and its just Dec 1. But they have 9 commits and thats with rumors flying around that he wont be back next season. Kind of feel for you Daddy its embarrasing to see a fellow Vol get just beat down badly. If your done I will go ahead and put it to bed now and you can save what little dignity you have left.

I like it when you call me daddy.

My biggest problem with strong is his time as a head coach, going from the big east to the SEC is a huge jump. I know he has been a DC here for two teams. He was a DC, not a HC. I just feel like the job will swallow him whole and we will be left in the same situation we are in now. I just want the best guy for our money and i do not feel like that is Strong. There are MUCH better options than Strong at this point.

Agreed. So many fans put all their eggs in the Gruden basket and no matter who is hired they arent going to be happy. Before Dooley was fired but was obvious he was going to be i made a personal list of guys I would be happy with and as long as it was one of those I would be happy. Mine was in no order but Gruden, Stoops, Strong, Del Rio and Patterson. Well Gruden, Stoops and Del Rio dont seem to be possible so that leaves Strong and Patterson. Both are really good defensive minds and would be happy with either. But the thing putting Strong ahead of Patterson is his ability to recruit and has coached in a cutthroat SEC and knows how it works. Patterson has the betfer job of the two and I think Strong isa more hungry to prove he is a good coach and can win and recruit in the SEC. Thats what makes me think he would do a great job at UT no matter what others may think. I dont know if its race or what it is that has some not wanting Strong. I am all white but race has no influence whatsoever. I will admit a part of me wants to see what a black HC could do at UT, but bigger than that I just want a guy who will win and not embarass UT. Dooley did it and so did Kiffin. Just want it done and announced.

He is either extremely shy or just simply not too bright.

This is not the time for UT to prove a point or for affirmative action.

Being as there are only 120 teams, I'd hope you could pull a top 1000 class. Maybe we should aim a bit higher.

Thats definitely your prerogative to feel that way. I feel the exact opposite. He will have more money and be able to attract a much better quality of assistant as well. He knows the kind of players it takes to win the SEC and no matter how great a recruiter he is your just not going to be able to consistently bring in 4-5* kids that he and an elite type staff he could assemble could bring in consistently. Dooley had everything at his disposal and completely F'D it up. There was no reason he shouldnt have been able to recruit top 10of every year. Just was no excuse for it. But after reading the article someone posted lastweek about him never following up with recruits, form relationships with the HS Coach's and players and being a complte tool I see why he had problems. Plus not beating top 25 teams ever and going 0-12 against your top 4 rivals plus being only 4-2
against Vandy and UK is ridiculous. I will back and support no matter who Hart brings in but I am pulling for Strong.
