I did wonder that, honestly. Could have been he had just finshed yr one at Louis and I think went 7-6. But why didnt they offer Mullen or did they? Would have a hard time thinking Mullen would turn down UF to stay in Starkville. I honestly didnt understand them hiring Muschamp but obviously Foley saw something in him. Hell Foley may have been skeptical about hiring a minority, hard to say honestly. Hart aeems like a smart guy so if he hires Strong he saw something in him. Honestly if he knows Fisher would leave FSU he would probably offer him. Really think our next coach is Strong or Fisher.

And that scares the crap out of me. For the money we are "rumored" to be offering, we have very low coaching standards, i do not understand why we have not offered Petersen, Patterson, Stoops, names like that, we are going after really, unproven guys.

I really dont either. Peterson would never happen. But Patterson and Stoops who knows. Maybe he has or maybe he hasnt. I am not a fan of a Bama grad making the biggest football hire in possibly UT history. Dont think Hart would sabotage UT as some are suggesting. If the higher ups even remotely think that he wouldnt be conducting another interview. I like Jimbo Fisher alot. He recruits his ass off and could bring a hell of a staff but his coaching concerns me. Maybe its too much pressure at FSU following a legend, who knows. He should dominate the ACC and doesnt. I am all for Roman if Hart would atleast look at him.

I would be all for Shaw, just doubt he would leave either. I guess I should look at Fedora more I just dont know alot about him. But his defenses scare me and we have had enough of those type problems. But if he could bring in a good defensive staff then sure. I just dont want a spread offense. I much prefer a pro style, run downhill and out physical you.like Standford, Ala, GA etc.

This is the most important hire in the history of UT football. That being said, if i'm Hart i would shoot for the stars. Make the huge names turn you down, at least it shows you are serious about wanting to win.
Going after the guys we are going after just says, meh... he may work...

The reason Bama is where there at is they spent the money, they would not settle until they got the best. I guess we are not to that point yet, after 3 years of DD one would think we would be ready to do most anything for a top coach. It's just so frustrating.

I see you live in Alabama too, i'm in Birmingham, and am sick to death of Bama, it was nice for so many years, then Saban.

The way I understand it their AD wanted/hired Rich Rod and the boosters stepped in, 'over ruled' him, went after and got Saban...

Sounds like our boosters need to step up to the plate and tell Hart to re-evaluate his list.

Point was Dooley was given the keys to a Benzo and treated it like a Yugo. UT sells and recruits itself and he should have been able to have top ten classes every year and won some top 25 games and beaten our 4 rivals. Kiffin in his only year beat the brakes off GA and Spurrier and played Tebow/Florida well and should have beaten Saban. Dooley never came close to Ala or really Fla and played SC and GA close this yr

This is what scares me about Jimbo. Lost to NC State and now GA Tech has the ball down 6and with 2 mins to go and GA beat the hell out of Tech. They can keep Jimbo.
