Who is the better Manning?

As many have said if Peyton played on a team like the Pats, Ravens, or Steelers I truly believe he'd have 3+ rings right now. I'm biased though.

I pray he goes to the Jets. I think thats his best chance at another shot.

5 QB's better than Eli that never won a Super Bowl.

1. Dan Marino
2. Jim Kelly
3. Warren Moon
4. Dan Fouts
5. Fran Tarkenton

and im sure there are more but these dudes were damn good and never won.

If peyton had eli's team.. we'd be saying 72 dolphins who? And the real question would be, how many more undefeated seasons can peyton have?

That is so absurd that people would think eli. It shouldn't even be a question. ***** super bowls. Look at the stats. Better yet, watch the damn film. It's not even close. Eli has a ridiculously good team around him, petting has had nothing. It's really not even close. Even taking an entirely non biased position, just as a NFL fan, it's not even close.

In what way has he had nothing? He had Marshall Faulk as a rookie, Edgerrin James after that. Brown and Addai were both first round picks as well. That is 4 at RB alone. Saturday and Tarik Glenn were both awesome OL. Freeney at DE is a future HoF. Mathis is a very good pass rusher.Bob Sanders won DPOY. Marvin Harrison, Reggie Wayne, and Dallas Clark all first round picks as receivers and at TE.

Get a clue. Bill Polian put more talent around Peyton than any QB has ever had at the skill positions. At one point he had three first round picks at WR, 1 at TE, and 1 @ RB. So that is five first round picks out of a possible 5 skill position spots available on any given play.

Manning is great at racking up stats in the regular season just to choke in the playoffs.

Never beat Florida. He leaves UT and we immediately win the NC. Yet there is so much love for him by vols fans. Mind boggling.

my question is where was peyton?

did anyone see him, because i didn't see it? i assume he had to be there. he was there the first time the giants made the super bowl?

just curious

Its the morning after the superbowl and Im sure we've all had way too much to drink but that there is more than one possible answer here is INSANE!!! Peyton Manning is the best to ever play the position, hands down, no questions asked. Hell, hes the Colts passing game, running game and defense all rolled into 1. They go from a perenial Super Bowl contender to 2-14 and theres a question. Austin Collies an NFL reciever, really? Bobby Sanders, defensive player of the year, must've been the year he played more than 5 games. Eli deserves credit, two time Super Bowl winner, great, but the Giants have a better supporting cast, thats it. There are 20 better quarterbacks all time then Eli and the only reason I didnt say 50 is because he just won his second super bowl. My god, TRENT DILFER won a superbowl, Mark RYPIEN, Donovan freakin Mcnabb got to one. Time to go back to bed, hopefully when I wake up everyone else will be SOBER.

here are some clues

colts without peyton = 2-14
peyton = muliple nfl mvp
peyton = super bowl champ
peyton = shatters nfl records

peyton = sec champs and never lost to bamer.

Eli is clutch but this is kind of a meaningless thread.

Like everyone said, throw peyton on that ny squad and he has at least 2 more rings.

The colt's are garbage.

wow, so much wrong with this post :disappointed:

tired of people pointing out the colts record without peyton manning as evidence of something.

when your backups are so pitiful, that you go out and sign kerry collins off the street to be your starter, you are letting everyone know that you decided to ignore the position outside of manning. basically, the only thing that was proven is that they had the worst qb situation in football outside of their starter

is manning great and are the colts a bad football team without him? of course. would they have been the worst team in football if they had an average backup qb like most teams do? no

Peyton will own more records in the NFL, but Eli has always been able to motivate his team better. I will point to the Memphis game in, I think it was in 97. A 5 and 7 team for that year might be wrong on the win lose but close.

Eli doesn't motivate their defense

and is it ok that Eli's team lost to Memphis in his Sr year? Just wondering

If I am down by 6 with 2:00 minutes left in the game, I would rather have Eli over just about any other QB in the game right now

It is just incredible that in the most team dependent sport of the big three, people try to fully credit or discredit one player over one game or even one drive. Gets me every time.

So this is Eli's first come from behind last minute game-winning drive?

I wonder when the majority of earth will realize this.

I wonder how everyone's perceptions of both Brady and Eli would be different if one of the Patriots made a diving catch on the Hail Mary yesterday. Would Brady be a better quarterback? Would Eli be worse?
