Who is the better Manning?

I love both Mannings, and am glad to see Eli win another. I still think Peyton's better overall, but the better playoff QB is Eli, no doubt.

No, not at all. But if welker makes a catch or Bradshaw's fumble is an unlucky bounce... this isn't even a thread/conversation. Or if that ball randomly falls into Gronk's hands at the end... it isn't even a conversation. There are a trillion factors, yet everyone tries to take one game and end every argument.

They're both great... took eli a little longer but he has come into his own this season

if Deion branch makes that wide open 20 yards down catch on first down, too

You talking about when the Pats were down with a minute left? Brady was lucky Phillips didn't pick that. He got both hands on it, which is why Branch didn't catch it.

my question is where was peyton?

did anyone see him, because i didn't see it? i assume he had to be there. he was there the first time the giants made the super bowl?

just curious

I presumed he was there with his family (not sure Archie was ever on camera either)

I guess there could always be a chance that there's currently enough ill-feeling / bad blood between him and irsay at the moment / after this week that it was decided it would be better if he wasn't at his stadium or something

One last thought. Did anyone believe, at the start of the playoffs that the giants were going to win the super bowl either year?

Let's stop pretending they're loaded. Few had them making the playoffs when the season started

FWIW, from the 2011 NFL Playoff Picks thread:

I'd probably go Ravens/Packers, but don't sleep on the Giants. Eli Manning is hot, and that pass rush is a game-changer.

Gus....

But seriously, I think Peyton is the best regular season quarterback to ever play the game. As of right now, Eli is the better post season qb. [Sorry if this has been posted, i'm not reading through 13 pages of forum to make sure I am typing an original thought:boredom:]

Eli doesn't motivate their defense

and is it ok that Eli's team lost to Memphis in his Sr year? Just wondering

True he did loose to Memphis but compare the talent on Eli's team and the talent on the Tenn team that lost. Tenn should have been able to beat them with 3rd string.

Peyton, and you'll never be able to convince me otherwise unless you can go back in time and make Eli play for Tennessee in college.

Their defense was built to play with a lead which they almost always had which let them make the other team one dimensional and was a great pass D especially at rushing the QB.

And?? That still doesnt make them a good defense...You actually described a bad defense like oklahoma st.

People remember the teams and players who won championships and especially multiple times.

When did they start giving inmates at the corrections facility computer access? Your post is just wildly hilarious, what'd Peyton do steal your girl in college? Move on, bro.

So posting facts is not allowed? You mad? People here make ignorant statements like he had nothing around him. Which is clearly absurd to any reasonable observer. Then I post exactly how they are wrong and you homers have the nerve to call my post wrong or hilarous. No, what is hilarous is loyalty to a QB who could never win the big game and that immediately upon his departure we win a national championship.

Tee Martin is the person this loyalty should be directed towards.

In what way are the facts wrong? Everything I said is true and accurate.

yeah but it doesn't really mean what you are trying force it to mean. You also go on about "1st round picks" like it means something and then throw Saturday's name out there (he was an UDFA that they picked up)

also your " immediately upon his departure we win a national championship" line is insinuating that QB play is the reason that occurred. No one that watched the 98 season would truly make that claim

And Saturday was a pro bowler 5 times who earned his way onto the field.

Yes, being a first rounder means something. It means you were talented enough to be selected before 220+ other individuals.

And yeah I guess long passes to Pearless in the NC never happened.

so it was Tee that led us to victory over UF? Please

Saturday was not an example of surrounding a player with the best talentas you were trying so hard to illustrate. Also just saying "he was a first rounder" means very little
