Twasn't helpful agreed. But I read a study a few years back that indicated that racism was more prevalent in the Midwest than the South. Makes sense, I mean there are way better opportunities for minorities in Atlanta, Charlotte, Dallas and Nashville than there are in Chicago, Detroit, Cleveland and Philly.
Not to continue the racism discussion but to make a point about where most the minorities reside. Most southern people treated their servants with respect and treated them as part of the family. The ones who ran to the north were actually treated worse than those in the south. If you enjoy history the way it really was and not what propaganda the liberal media want you to here and believe then you should read the book; Jack Hinsons One Man War by the author Col. Tom C. Mckinney. It's a very good book. Alot of middle and west Tennessee history. It also explains that east Tennessee was predominantly union which would explain why most vote republican still to this day.
It started when Fulmer tried to implement the spread offense with the memorable Clawfence without the players being able to understand it or even run it. Instead of phasing the concept in, he tried to make it go from day 1 and it flopped. Our recruiting base went to bammer, End of Story!! Why do I think that when we fired Fulmer for trying to beat Florida at their own game and hired the next two up and coming morons who were the next comings, we come up with Butch Jones and Clawfence!

I'll take do nothings over dumocrats who want to grow the government and spend our taxdollars on useless stuff like NPR, Amtrak, and acorn. And I work for the government, so believe me, when I say it is too big I mean it cuz I benefit from more job opportunities that a bigger government brings, but the country loses from the overspending. Just go to USAJOBS.OPM and look at how many jobs are being advertised for Department of Agriculture SNAP (food stamp program)...it's really depressing what the socialist dems have done to our country.
Good point but Regan in the 80's led a movement that flipped most long time blue dog dems to the GOP. Now the dems are mostly liberal activists, union members, young women still buying their college professors bull and minorities. I'm hoping we can get the minorities to realize that they are being used and taken for granted by the dems. New SC Senator will help. Rubio/Ryan or Ryan/Rubio in 16!
Back to Foosball: Fulmer started losing it when Ricth began to out recruit him in Geogia, then Spurrier started taking away his SC top talent. As Beamer built up his brand, we lost out in Virginas. And Arky started winning in West TN, bama got off probation and LSU started keeping their best at home. Yup, comes down to recruiting which is main reason I wanted Strong over Jones but I like CBJ and his passion, so I'm optimistic going forward...even if we get screwed again on the schedule.
I don't have any empirical evidence. But my guess is because the SEC cares more about football as a way of life. I have heard it referred to as a religion. If the argument is because of the percentage of minorities, then you would think that areas like east St. Louis and Detroit and Cleveland would produce the best recruiting areas.
I am not suggesting that black athletes are not important in all conferences and I am proud that UT's record in leading the way in integrating.
My concern is when you link any minority to stereotyping it is not helpful. Linking recruiting to picking cotton as the poster alluded to stereotyping.
