Who Should be #2 Behind OSU?

i agree about the Big 10...OSU/Mich is it...Wisc is ok, and Iowa is, uh, ok. the big 12...TX, OK, Neb...and the last two aren't great.

if i'm ranking conferences...
1. SEC
2. Pac 10
3t. Big 10
3t. Big East
5. Big 12
6. ACC
Wisconsin is actually pretty darned good. Mine would go a little something like this...

1. SEC
2. Pac-10
2. Big Ten
4. Big XII
5. Big East
6. ACC

the big 12 is not good. the big east has 3 undefeated teams, two in the top 10.

i give the edge today to the Big East.

I don't care what teams records are. The no. 2 team in the country should be the team that everyone thinks has the 2nd best team. Thats not Michigan or WV IMO. I think Texas could beat either of those 2 teams. So could probably Florida or UT.

Which is why I dislike the BCS. Play an easy schedule or play in an easy conference like ND, WV, and your immediately elevated to NC consideration.

completely disagree. Michigan has a very, very good defense, playmakers on the outside, a great RB in Mike Hart and outside Erik Ainge, Chad Henne has been the biggest comeback qb in the country, and Michigan needed him to do that this year.

Given that McFadden and Mustain didn't play in the Arkansas game, it's my opinion that USC hasn't beaten a single good team yet. Nebraska is decent, nothing more.

Regardless of who played, USC killed Arkansas (13th in the BCS), beat Nebraska (#22) and beat Washington State (#25).

Michigan's wins in the BCS Top 25 are #9 Notre Dame and #18 Wisconsin.

I really think Michigan and USC are so close in accomplishment that I could be find with either being #2.

Please tell me you're not trying to say Wasington State is any good.

I think voting based on who someone thinks would win is ridiculous. Who the heck are you and what makes you the knower of all football? (sidenote: I don't mean YOU oklavol, but you in the general) Texas has two wins in the BCS top 25 and top 38 (sorry, can't find a longer list). Michigan has 2 in the top 25 and 4 in the top 38. Florida has 2 in the top 25 and 38, while Tennessee has 1 in the top 25 and 2 in the top 38. So, based on that, Michigan is clearly ahead of these 3 ... especially considering Michigan hasn't lost.

Florida
Texas
Tennessee

That could be correct.

Who has Michigan beaten this year to deserve all this respect? An overrated ND team? OSU beat a fairly good Texas team. The only reason Michigan is being mentioned is they haven't played OSU.

I don't think the Big 10 is a particularly strong conference either. That works to their advantage. Again, your rewarding teams for playing in a weak conference.

If they were in the SEC they wouldnt win the East or West this year, but because their in the Big 10, they receive NC consideration.

ok i feel michigan should be #2, but they havent really played anyone tough other then ND, and i even said at the start of the year i thought they were overrated. Michigan and OSU have been handed games this year the big ten is very weak this year. Iowa is playing terrible, Wisconsin is having a decent year but other then that who is in the the Big ten. Lets Give OSU and MICHIGAN an SEC schedule see what happens then. Im right in the heart of an OSU/michigan fan base NORTHWEST OHIO.........but i am moving back south in 2 weeks god i cant wait......BUT i am so sick of hearing how the big ten is such a tough conf. BC ITS NOT ill give em their undefeated season but but come bowl time they'll both get a rude awaking. Unless OSU plays WVU or Louisville

This is today's ESPN poll. The choices:

Michigan
USC
Texas
West Virginia

I would like for someone to explain to me how in the world Texas is on this list!! Auburn and Florida are ranked above Texas in the BCS..and Tennessee should be. And...please don't say because their only loss is to OSU....for that matter...then how will we ever decide which order to rank Michigan and Texas at the end of the season when they both have one loss and it is to OSU. And while we're at it, let's put ND right behind Michigan since that is there only loss. Michigan has the lead right now (as I think they should), but Texas and WV are pretty much tied...which I like a whole lot. I would like to know how Texas made it to this list.
IMO, if Michigan barely beats Ohio State when they play, provided both are undefeated to that point,I think it will be them playing the National Title game since Ohio State killed #6 Texas at Texas.

Psst, guess what?

To this point, through 8 weeks, Ohio State and Michigan have played tougher schedules than the majority of the SEC schools.

Michigan has played Central Michigan, Vanderbilt, and Notre Dame. In conference they have played Penn State, Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Iowa.

That is not a tougher schedule then the majority of SEC schools. I would take that schedule over Arkansas, Auburn, LSU, UT, and Florida's.
