It will look a ton different, but my original point to that genius was so far, through 8 weeks, Michigan and Ohio State's schedules have been better than the majority of SEC teams.

These are SOS numbers ... from 4 different sources. You said earlier today that computer rankings are the same things we humans could do ourselves, correct? Then, we'd come up with the same mathematics, right?

The B10 is weak ... but Michigan and Ohio State are not. I love SEC football as much as anybody, and it's the best, deepest conference. However, it doesn't mean every time in the conference is best in every category.

PSU has a test against Wisconsin, and 3 guaranteed wins against Purdue, Temple, and the John L. Smith Chokers.

Iowa also has Wisconsin, then sleepers against Illinois, NW, and Minnesota.

However, UT's SoS will suffer due to the heads up matchup between Ark and LSU, and the loss that UGA will suffer at the hands of Auburn. Also, SC will probably lose every game on the remaining schedule.

See, weak arguments always go here. I never said I was the know all of CFB. I implied I know more than you ... which I do.

If knowing more than you warrants an ESPN contract, every member on this board better have his or her pen ready.

Iowa lost to Indiana. So, them losing to one of their remaining weak teams wouldn't be that big of a shocker. Wisconsin is, in my eyes, clearly the 3rd best team in the Big 10. I'm not impressed with Iowa at all. I haven't gotten to see enough of Penn State yet, but what I have seen isn't encouraging.

No. The geek-o rankings will tell you that playing 5-2 Miami is the same as playing 5-2 UTEP. Their emphasis on opponent's records renders their analysis flawed and laughable. Computer rankings are for people who lack the insight to actually watch games and determine who's good and who's not. Nerd-o polls are nothing but hollow, distorted, and utterly meaningless numbers.

B) You and I have spoken in other threads about football. I assume you would agree that I don't use computer rankings as prophecy, right?

C) In this SOS debate, what other resources would we use, besides a computer that simplifies the math?

D) I never even said the computers were the end-all in SOS numbers. However, when I give 4-5 different resources, you would still lend 0 credence to them?

I'm a grad of the fine school we cheer for. You don't have to be a grad of MIT, Stanford, Harvard, Princeton, Brown, Vanderbilt, ANY SCHOOL to understand common sense. I realllllllly don't mind when someone disagrees with me, and in most instances, I look forward to it. I learn about things best when I discuss it with people who have something to say.

A) In the portion of the equation that deals with the strength of opponents' schedules, 5-2 Miami and 5-2 UTEP are treated exactly the same.
B) Granted.
C) Let people who actually watch games determine who has played a tough schedule.
D) I give all computer polls, individually or collectively, the same amount of credence. None.
