Michigan has played Central Michigan, Vanderbilt, and Notre Dame. In conference they have played Penn State, Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Iowa.

That is not a tougher schedule then the majority of SEC schools. I would take that schedule over Arkansas, Auburn, LSU, UT, and Florida's.

Majority is 7 schools, not 5.

check this out...ARK beat Auburn who beat FL who beat TN. All have one loss..and ARK lost to USC, who is undefeated and 2 or 3 depending on what poll you look at. ARK is the only team undefeated in conference play. hm...i think if i were an ARK fan, i'd be chirping a bit.

Arkansas got destroyed in their loss. UT and UF didn't. Auburn got beat somewhat badly, but it was nothing like the embarrassment the Hogs endured.

You do realize that Arkansas is the team that administered the beating to Auburn?

This is the most biased, blind, DUMB thing I've ever read. You obviously can't have an open discussion.

Didn't you once call me the most condescending person on this site? Anyway, I'm still unimpressed with Ohio State's schedule strength. Michigan has played some decent teams. I'm fine with OSU as #1 and Michigan as #2. One of them has to go down.

I did call you that, and also admitted I have bad days where I take the title. :)

It does frustrate when I clearly outline my statement, but people can't read well enough to follow the discussion.

Anyway, you're right. One of them has to go down, and the argument will shift to who should play the winner of that game.

the big 12 is not good. the big east has 3 undefeated teams, two in the top 10.

i give the edge today to the Big East.

hey, and isn't enough that i rank the Pac 10 as 2? now you're just asking for too much milo.
Huh? I tied the Big Ten with the Pac-10 at 2. The Big Ten is better at the top but the Pac-10 is a tougher conference throughout. Stanford is the only team that flat-out sucks.

Go ahead, keep thumpin the chest and yelling SEC. Guess what? The SEC has, generally speaking, the worst scheduling practices out there. Yeah, the teams are tough but the frequent appearance of D-IAA/Sun Belt/bottom half C-USA brings things down. I mean, Georgia's football squad hasn't left the south in almost 50 years, and a weak non-conf cost Auburn their shot at the BCS title in '04.

Go ahead and compare Michigan's schedule to South Carolina's and Georgia's. Michigan's is world's better. Those are just the 2 easy ones.

Go ahead and bring up the SEC even though I didn't mention it. By the way, Cincinatti and Bowling Green aren't exactly a powerhouse out of conference opponents. Texas is good, although I don't think they are a top ten team this year.

So, in your opinion, playing Texas and Michigan does not even come close to playing Cal and Florida (both at home)?

Right...

LSU is a great team, as well.

On the plus side, it looks like we can probably forget about the possibility of Clemson surpassing UT in the rankings. They are getting dominated by Va Tech right now.

That's so far from untrue or fact. They *might* have a loss. MAYBE. But you don't have facts. You showed me schedules (which I already knew) and said "Not even close" or some other ignorant crap.

I don't claim to know it all. What I WANT is a good discussion, which you can't provide.

I'm going to have to show you, right?

In the Calley rankings, Michigan has a tougher schedule than 11 SEC teams. Ohio State's is tougher than 8.

In the Massey rankings, Michigan's is tougher than 11 SEC teams. Ohio State's is tougher than 7.

In the Seattle Times rankings, Michigan's is tougher than 9 SEC teams. Ohio state's is tougher than 7.

In Sagarin's rankings, Michigan's is tougher than 11 SEC teams. Ohio State's is tougher than 8.

There are FOUR places who disagree with you. And I think they miiiight know more.

I think a lot of that will look different at the end of the season. Iowa and Penn State are probably helping out their schedules. I don't think either of those teams are particularly good. I haven't looked ahead at their schedules, but I think they'll lose a few games, bringing down the strength of schedule of OSU and UM. I still have trouble believing Michigan's schedule is tougher than 11 SEC teams. I would think at least UT and Florida would be tougher. Arkansas also has a pretty tough one.
