A) I can only speak of Sagarin, but I'm pretty close to positive the record of the opponents' opponents is taken into consideration. When Miami's opponents of Florida State, N. Carolina, etc are taken into consideration over UTEP's opponents of Tulane, SMU, etc, it separates them abit. But I do agree, there is some error.

C) Do you consider TennVols423 to be a capable analyst of that?

Yeah, I didn't think that was very hard to pick up on. Interesting to call someone stupid while having such difficulty with interpretation.

So, if you and I watched the same amount of games, what would you say makes you a better judge of skill and talent than me? I'm only asking because when someone can't type words correctly, nor can they type coherent thoughts, I have a hard time believing they are very good at other, tougher tasks.

i really and honestly dont care what you think....i never NEVER said i was better then you and 2cd of all 99.99 percent of people understand everything i say.....SORRY MAN IM NOT AN ENGLISH MAJOR, but u really need to just drop it 1. you ARE NO better then me or anyone in this board room
2. if you really knew me as a person you wouldnt think i was "a MORON" just bc i suck at typing or dont use "PROPER" english
3.we both are here for one reason, bc we love the vols.....so i ask you to please just drop it, and forgive me when i accidentally mistype something.

They also put the likes of Oklahoma on the non-conf schedule this year. Yeah, the Sooners are not that good this year, but the effort is still there. The Sooners were a lot better when that home and away came up.

I think the lesson of this thread is that there is no math... You watch the football and form your opinion. And, with over 100 teams in D-IA, there will be a lot of different opinions.

Never meant to say I was better than you as a person, because I'm not. I would never "go there." But you were the first to imply that you knew more by saying "What games are you watching?"

excellent point Milo...the old eyeball test.

you have to look at how the teams are playing...win or lose. For a) how your opponent wins or loses can still say alot about your team and b)no poll, rating system, or computer takes in to account the "how the team played" factor.

two examples:
1. Vandy this year. their over all record suggest doormat. they're stats, and i haven't looked 'em up, but they probably aren't great either. But they lost to Bama on a game winning FG and lost to ARK by missing a game winning FG. if you watched both games, Vandy had legitimate shots at winning both. and to boot, they had an equally legit shot at beating Ole Miss. And low and behold, they did beat UGA at UGA. surprised? yeah, if you hadn't watched 'em all year and saw how they lost. Vandy is still bad, don't get me wrong. but they are not getting clobbered every week. they have had a chance to win several of their games thus far.
2. USC/ND last year...ND got beat. But everyone saw the game. ND got more cred for that loss than any of the wins they had last year. Why? cause EVERYONE saw that game, knew who the opponent was and came away thinking that ND doesn't suck.
If all you saw was a box score, you'd think wow, USC really struggled. and you know that's the truth.

wow im suprised you took it that way bc thats not what i meant and im sorry thats how you took it, but you try and tell me about Michigan football when ALL I SEE AND HEAR is michigan football, im right in the heart of wolverine and buckeye country. Just like i would expect you to know a little more about the pac-10 bc your in the region. Michigan HAS NOT played a schedule that 90% of sec teams has played nor has OSU for that matter.....I really dont care what your little computer rankings say, ill print that out and use it as toilet paper for all I care. Look man we both Love college football, but just bc i dont look the computer rankings up doesnt mean i dont know, I just sit back and watch and enjoy the game. But im sure you'll find some errors in this message or make up some dramatic ROFL ROCODIJF LOL or something childish like that so ill just end it by apologizing for my statement and i never intened for it to offend you.:mf_surrender: :mf_surrender:
