History shows that when we have a wide open Qb position, the freshman who enter school early have an advantage....I say Leak starts early and if he doesn't produce, Schaeffer takes over, Ainge needs to add weight.

I think you are right. CJ is going to start at least the first couple of games but if things don't go well it looks like Schaeffer will be next in line. I am really excited to see him in action.

Not sure... Just a feeling, I've heard a lot of great things about him.

Thanks for the welcome!

It should be interesting. I know that Ainge has a cannon arm. I guess it will come down to who can learn the offense the best and make the fewest mistakes.

If Brent ends up getting it, do you guys think we will see some option plays? I think it would be a good idea to run it a few times a game when he is in there to keep opposing defenses honest. I know that's what we used to do when Jermaine lined up at QB when Peyton was still here.

As long as Randy Sanders remains OC, expect the same ol' same ol' we've been seeing since Cutcliffe left. I refuse to get excited about exceptional recruits until we get somebody in there who will develop the talent.

AMEN sister! I would even settle for someone coming in as a QB coach to replace Col. Sanders.

On the topic. CJ will be the starter until the after Florida game. There is no way anyone but CJ is going to start that game. After Florida, one of the freshmen will get the call. We won't really know until practice, but Schaeffer has the best tools of the two.

I think that Leak will start the year but I think Clausen or Ainge will finish the year. I think it depends on how the VOLS start the year.

Clausen is going to have to show something more than he has, if he's going to get the job over the two freshmen.

Rick Clausen is ONLY on the team because his folks have err...invested.... so much money to the Athletic Department. If his last name was Smith or Jones he wouldn't even be in contention.

True.

Would you mind if I "borrowed" your signature quote to use with a Smokey image in Paint Shop Pro?

Rick Clausen is on the team because he has talent and UT is devoid of upperclass talent at the QB spot. He is a good QB, maybe not in the Manning, Shuler, Clausen arena but then again neither is CJ nor was Tee.

Tee was. He was highly recruited in high school.

He may have been highly recruited but then again according to Bama so was Huber.

I hope CJ goes all the way so everyone who does not believe in him can eat everything they said about his skills :pepper: :pepper: :pepper: :pepper:

As for Leak I'll just wait and see. The QB will be the one who mkes the least amount of mistakes. Leak, let's just say I've about his summer and Clausen is not out of it yet.
