423, even I am guilty of stretching out a post or two, but unless you're posting in the topic that will never die, try and keep it to one or two consecutive posts.

You are right, we forgot Gradkowski. What was I thinking? Gradkowski is definitely the missing link in the argument of what defines greatness at the NFL level.

Alright guys... Drop the friggin' semantics, I think we're all on the same page here. Just because a QB comes with success from a conference with tough defense does not mean he'll do well in the NFL, and a QB that has faced weaker defenses in college does not mean he can't succeed in the NFL.

they start in the NFL i believe thats GREAT. What team do you start for?

So what you're saying here is that a QB that starts in the NFL has accomplished something great. This would mean any other QB that started an NFL game in history has accomplished the same great task, correct? I agree with you. What about you, kptvol? Do you agree with this? Please impart some knowledge.

I just love the logic. Simply by being an NFL QB, one is a great NFL QB. I would definitely love to work for you one day. Two words: job security.

Accomplishing a great task does not make your great. I can't believe how easily you are bothered by me saying that AJ Feeley is not a starter.

Your first sentence is, and has been, my point exactly. Your AJ Feeley correction was pointless. It's kind of like me correcting the grammar in your previous post. It should be, "Accomplishing a great task does not make you great."

Pointing out a typo does not make you smart. However, mistaking a misspelled word for a grammatical error does tell me something about your intelligence. I think it was quite obvious that TennVols said that being a starting NFL QB means you are pretty good. You responded by listing Jason Campbell and Aaron Brooks as counterpoints. Both of these guys are starters and could legitimately be introduced as contradictory evidence. However, you also mentioned AJ Feeley. AJ Feeley is a third string QB for Philadelphia. Do I need to elaborate on the difference?

Feeley has started in the NFL. Haven't we been over this? For the record, using "your" instead of "you" is considered a grammar mistake.

Correction: AJ Feeley is the 2nd string quarterback for the Eagles, not 3rd. Do I need to elaborate on the difference?

McNabb is first string, Garcia is second, and Feeley is third. McNabb is currently injured, leaving Garcia as the starter. Thus, the Eagles are starting their second string QB. Ask any Philadelphia fan what string Feeley is. They'll say third.

In this week's SI, they have a mock draft of the first ten picks...

They've got Quinn going first to the Lions, and... wait for it...

Smith going SECOND to the Raiders. They at least qualified it as an upset pick.

Also have Ginn (if he comes out) going fifth to the Browns...

I just felt like that needed to be corrected. With McNabb out, Feeley is officially the 2nd string QB. Check any depth chart. It'll say 2nd. :eek:k:

If Smith goes to the Raiders, you can go ahead and call him a bust.

Fine. Then I guess Arkansas and LSU beat us this year with our first string quarterback. Perhaps I should pull as clowers and behave like a jackass after a correction is made.

Oh hell, you found another typo. It's nice to see that you are also a hypocrite.

:eek:lol:

Making pointless corrections on member's posts isn't something I usually do. In the process of mocking you, however, I've made an exception. I really didn't think the bickering would last this long.

It started with your inane correction of my post about AJ Feeley, which completely missed the point of my arguement. This is an arguement in which you agree with as well, that just because you start in the NFL doesn't make you a great QB. It's gone back and forth with more pointless jabs and corrections. Game over. You win. My intelligence level is inferior to your own.

I'll call that a non-decision. It's like Joey Harrington going to the Lions... Yeah, he looks awful. But he plays for a perenial doormat, Peyton Manning would look like an amateur if he played for Oakland or Detroit. Same goes for Troy Smith, or anywhere else. Put him on a team that at least has somewhat of an idea on how to play football before you judge him.
