The last 2-3 recruiting cycles are proof that recruiting kids to Miami isn't as easy as you think.
You have no idea, proof or anything tangible to suggest that Gruden could recruit kids to what is now at bet a mediocre Miami program.
I have heard it reported that they have super nice facilities thanks to the Nike owner. I'm sure there are other schools who would argue for the "best" tag though.
If they offer, he would be the biggest fool of all-time not to leave...Billy, if they offer he is gone. If they offer and by some chance he stays, he is a moron.
Jesus Christ Billy...coach speak...he is committed to Mississippi State until the ink drys, that or they didn't offer him. Simple as that.
Florida without question is a top 5 job in college football, arguably the best job in all of college football.
Mississippi State on the other hand has the lowest athletic budget of any SEC school ( Vandy? ). Doesn't hold a candle to the furtile recruiting grounds that Florida has.
They offer, he leaves.
Pretty stupid response.
Jon Gruden is as charasmatic a football coach as you will ever meet, he would kill in the living room. Kids these days are eyeing the NFL more than ever, he only has a Super Bowl to his name, which he attained coaching a team based in Florida.
Didn't Miami have the number one recruiting class just a few years back? In 2008 they had the number one class according to ESPN, in 2009 they had the number 7 rated class. Not chopped liver by any means.
If Gruden took over a college program, they would be on the fast track to elite status.
Yeah, true. But that's just such an obvious and BORING choice. I thought everything involved with Florida's football coach had to be chocked full of drama and intrigue.
I say y'all hire Whittingham after turning Mullen down.
Interesting. So when was the last time Gruden sat in a living room of a recruit?
Pretty stupid response.

All speculation regarding Gruden on your part....and my post is stupid. Got it. :good!:
Gruden's Super Bowl ring came with Dungy's players, and he got run out of Tampa once TD's guys went elsewhere....but he's got a GREAT personality!!
I'm not saying Gruden wouldn't be successful, I just don't think it would be the sure fire lock some of you are making it out to be....especially at a place like UMiami.
If you replace Gruden with Kiffin, I'd swear we traveled back in time to VolNation circa February 2009.
Did the kid sign? And which school?

Please...Kiffin's credentials in the NFL are nothing compared to Gruden. It isn't even close.
You can think that Gruden would do bad but you have nothing but a biased opinion as to why he would.
Miami's past recruiting classes prove that they are still relevant and can get top recruits. A name like Gruden will have those kids flocking to south beach.
