What makes you think Stoops would leave OK? Not arguing but only curious as to why you think he'd consider leaving OK. FL may be a better job than OK but not by much.

Bcuz he's done everything there that he can. He's proven that he can beat Texas. He's won NC's and conference titles.

He just lost his OC.

At some point you'd think he'd like a new challenge.

Spurrier. This fits into his egotistical manner. Walk into the program like a king and use Urb's players to his benefit.

He did it in the 90s with Pell's players. He couldnt do it in Was and its taken 8 yrs (or whatever) at SC just to get where he is and that's due to UF,Ga, and Tn being down.

This is a coast to retirement for SOS.

Mother of God.

Fulmer will make comment on how he's not interested.
Leach will make comment on how he is interested.
Gruden's name will come up. Things will spin up and then back down.

Who knows....

I think his ties to Gainesville when he was DC under Spurrier. I also think that the way the Big 12/10 is moving and the uncertainty in the league could possibly be a factor. Obviously I don't know, but just my opinion.
I don't think he can accomplish much more in Norman.

The Stoops idea is intriguing to me. Its not like the guy is hurting. On the other hand, he might jump ship before the Big12 implodes.

That's what I was thinking. Do you think the Big 12 will be a conference in 3 years or do you think they will join the PAC 12 eventually?

Regardless of what happens to the Big 12, OU and Texas are always going to end up somewhere doing fine.

Mike Hamilton presses his influence...FLA hires Josh McDaniels (ala Kiffin)...McDaniels leaves the next year and FLA hires Skip Holtz (coaches son).

IMO....

If the AD is thinking clearly, he finds a coach that is suited to this type of offense and the players that are adapted to it, which means another spread offense style coach.

Logical choice would be Mullen.

UF can get just about anyone they want though. They are not under NCAA investigation, the have talent at just about "every" position and a possible top 5 recruiting class that needs to be coddled all the way until signing day. Also, they have a large amount of funds and incentives they can offer the new HBC.

It's gonna be Mullen, IMO.

EDIT: I have a hunch that Urban will change his mind sometime before the Outback Bowl. Just my two cents.

FWIW, over at Gator Country they are about 3-1 against the idea of Dan Mullen being the next coach
