Who would you rather beat?

I'm going to say Florida because for years it hasn't mattered how good we are, we can never seem to finish them off. When we get to a place where we don't have a huge mental block stopping us from beating them, our program is back on track.

which years are we talking about here?

It's a hard choice for many reasons, but Bama! I think it would be nicer to beat the NC team, our main rival and would gather major attention from recruits

I understand all the arguements. I have to say I always want UT to win every game. For the sake of this conversation IF we are not the team going to a NC then I'd want which ever SEC that is there to win.

SEC is the place to be for new talent. If Bama would have been beat down by Notre Dame then it would have shown that the SEC isn't as strong as everyone has made them out to be. After that there would be doubt about the whole SEC being the elite conference, and recruits would notice and over time would start declining the amount of quality recruits to the SEC in general

I can understand why so many people want the sec to beat ooc teams, but it's not helping Tennessee. Yeah the athletes want to play in the best conference, but KY is in this thing too. How much has the conference helped them? The more the other major teams in the sec continue to dominate, the more major recruits see them as attractive destinations. Its only helping that team, their recruits and giving their fans more ammunition. To heck with rooting for the sec. I only root for Tennessee who plays in the sec.

Y'all like hearing these bama fans brag about winning another NC? Shoot I hope they lose every game, especially ooc games so I can laugh at them

Bama, Tennesee is my favorite team, my second favorite team is whoever Bama is playing that week. I hope their off week beats them. That's just how I was raised.

Bama all day every day. They are our biggest rival regardless of any other team someone tries to prop up as our rival.

Alabama. Every single time. Always and forever.

Please give up this SEC pride nonsense. This period of SEC domination has been the lowest period in UT football history. Wake up.

Correlation does not imply causation.

As someone who lives in Alabama, I'd much rather see the Crimson Turd go down in flames against the Big Orange

Correlation does not imply causation.

Yes in this case it does. Alabama and Tennessee have never been both "up" at the same time. Its not cosmically possible for evil bama to be on top while good Tennessee is as well. The universe would explode.

Correlation does not imply causation.

Well, correlation of course implies causation, but it does not necessarily follow that SEC domination is the reason UT is down. There are other factors involved obviously, but please tell me how Alabama's dominance is good for UT.

I can just hear the recruits right now "Hey Papa, if I go to Tennessee, I will be able to receive a personal mudhole from the national champions for four straight years. The national champions! Where do I sign?"

I realize we actually are bringing in recruits (verbals) this year, but I fail to see how Alabama's dominance has anything to do with that. I think the reason can be attributed to a perfect storm of Butch doing all the right things to create excitement, excellent social media presence, and motivation from fellow recruits all snowballing to make UT a fashionable place to commit at the moment. It's beautiful to watch, and I hope Butch can keep it up long enough to result in actual signatures on February 5, 2014.

EDIT: In summation, there is never a reason to root for Alabama. F*** Alabama.

Floridas national championship didn't prevent LSU from winning it. Nor did it prevent Alabama after that. Nor Auburn. Nor Alabama again.

All these SEC teams winning titles. The Big 10 has only had one dominant team in the past decade and they are what, 1-2 in the title game? If there's anyone hurting Tennessee's chances its the admin and the coaching decisions they've made.

It weak to wish the competition to fall to our level. We need to rise to our competition.
