Whoa! Aaron murray gets destroyed (video)

Because his coach made him. And I'd be willing to bet his coach made him because he was concerned about the flak he was going to take from the media and the ice dancing crowd such as yourself. 10 years ago not one person would have though anything of that hit aside from the fact that it would have made SC and multiple big hit highlight reels.

Yes, his coach made him because I'm sure Saban even knew it was a bushleague tackle. That play is a bushleague play now, 10, 20 or 30 years ago. You don't suplex a guy and try and break his neck. That's not football Jr. That's rasslin'. Maybe you can get your own material and stop swinging on therealUT's ballsack next time.

I'm sure you never were coached to be a dirty player. You got that reputation all by yourself. You obviously didn't play very long because when most people get that rep then they will be targeted and injured for their bushleague play.

Started playing in 6th grade in Amarillo, TX; played through my first year of college. Not sure I ever gave a damn about my reputation.

As usual you dance around why he apologized. Maybe it was because Saban knew it was a bushleague move. I don't think Saban teaches that. Saban is a good enough coach and has good enough players where he doesn't have to teach that or resort to that. He has a few out of control thugs that think they are in the WWE and it's rasslin' instead of football. And as in any football league with half a brain, that move will be flagged and penalized every single time.

I never said that the play should not have been penalized. Facemask offenses should be penalized, as well. That does not mean that tugging on a facemask by instinct, when you happen to find yourself in that situation, is a bush league move. It is football, it happens. You are going to get ear-holed, and you are going to get tossed around and land in awkward and dangerous positions.

I have serious doubts that Fanning planned to suplex anyone before that play; I have even more serious doubts that he thought of doing that during the play. He found himself in that situation and he got the ball carrier to the ground. It is instinct.

Of course, you do not see this much in football. First, the position itself was awkward. Second, the running back for Mizzou was tiny. Third, Fanning is a pretty big and strong guy. That is why this happened. It is usually secondary players who find themselves pulling back on running backs in that position. Most secondary players do not have the strength and power to then toss the running back backwards over their head while the running back is still trying to move forward.

Ride out that apology line as far as you like; just know, that to be consistent, you will have to say that anytime a coach or a player apologizes, after a non-controversial hit that injures a player, you will have to say that the hit and the player were wrong.

I don't think I've ever seen a player get their neck broken by a facemask penalty either. Facemasks are going to happen because you're reaching and grabbing at anything as the runner goes by. A suplex takes just a little more than reaction. You have to grab them first, then bear hug them and get your feet set and then piledrive them. That takes a little more preparation than a facemask.

Again, the NCAA and NFL don't agree with you. Why? Because serious injury can occur from it and it's not a football play.

And I don't have to ride out the apology at all. It's obvious the player and coach knew that isn't a football play. How many times have you seen a coach and player apologize for a facemask penalty? Exactly. That is why it is flagged every time and the player faces suspension because of the serious injuries that can occur.

Shaw said, "By rule, you canÂ’t hit a defenseless player above the shoulders."

And then he said, “What the determination needs to be is was this a defenseless player and was contact initiated above the shoulders? When we go through video review of it, that’s what we’ll have to determine. And then you as you break it down, did he lead with the head or lead with the shoulder? From game action, it was a personal foul regardless of how we break it down frame by frame.”

The helmet to helmet should've brought out the flag. If they determine he was defenseless then he'll probably be suspended.

He said that a defenseless player can not be hit in the head. I was under the impression that you could hit a non-defenseless player as hard as you want.

This is much more gruesome than Fanning's body slam.

Fanning is the quickest thinking football player, nay, student at the University of Alabama in its storied history: a future Rhodes Scholar.

A play being against the rules does not make it bush league.

And I don't have to ride out the apology at all.

True, you can choose to be irrational.

They are both equally bad, but a facemask is clearly more reactionary than a suplex. And I know you're trolling me with the future Rhodes Scholar schtick, but I did laugh.

I'll agree to disagree in regards to the bushleague play and I'm not being irrational at all. When it's against the rules in the NCAA and NFL then it's going to be a non-football play every single time. That rule will never change.

Part of the game. You get paid millions to wear protective gear and play ball. The Nfl is a joke now.

You guys keep saying the NFL is a joke. Well then you go play in it if it's such a joke. You all act like hard hits never happen. God forbid they try and cut down on hits that could seriously injure or even kill someone without the fans getting their panties in a bunch.

Id be okay with all the protective hits if they had my income. Id let Ray Lewis hit me illegal 3 times a week to get paid what they do.

1. All these brain damage lawsuits in the NFL need to be dismissed. Football is a violent sport, you should know that before partaking in it.

2. The only unnecessary hits are like the one Murray took in this video. He was indeed defenseless. Also, blindside hits on special teams should be gotten rid of.

3. Im sorry but you should be able to devastate receivers who are coming across the field. You should be able to launch yourself at a ball carrier to get them down...

So it's okay to nail a receiver but not a defender?

I'd argue the opposite. A receiver is focusing on the ball, not the defense and should be protected. A defender should have to protect himself. It's not the blockers fault if the defender never sees him coming.

It doesnt take excessive force to block someone. You should never have to go at someones head to block them.

That's the argument I've been trying to make this whole time. These are grown men who are capable of making adult decisions that have positive and negative consequences on both sides. They don't need the NFL to run around like Mary Poppins protecting them from themselves.

I also agree with the guy who said these lawsuits need to be thrown out. Every one of those players walked onto the field knowing there was a chance they might never walk off it. Everyone knows of players being paralyzed playing football. IMO that's a far worse fate than the effects of concussions. If they more or less signed off on the possibility of full body paralysis, they shouldn't be able to collect money for suffering the ill effects of a lesser injury.

Exactly, I strongly agree with your last statement. The NFL needs to do away with all these defenseless hits and let players draw money for 'career' ending injuries and have personal doctors for concussions and injuries that aren't too serious.

Describe one bit where that play wasn't a cheap shot punk. You're the typical 12 year old girl on here who talks sh*t who would otherwise get their ass kicked if you tried to act like that in person.

Look at the badass kid!

Why do you keep calling people out for their age? First off I am probably twice your size you dick weed. You don't know **** about football, if you grew up watching the old football then you would have been ok with that hit. Also anyone named orange balls I can't take seriously, you are a joke :eek:lol:

One last thing these guys do not have to play, they choose to play. Hitting is apart of the game, if you don't like that I suggest you stick to watching golf. These guys if they make it to the league will get paid MILLIONS to take a hit, **** I would do that any day for what they make. Everyone quit your *****ing, IT IS FOOTBALL!

Because it's obvious when you open your trap how immature and stupid you sound. Dick weed? Good Lord. Just as I said, you must be 12. But hey, you're an internet badass so that's all that matters.

I've forgotten more football than you'll ever know punk. Now get back to playing your video games Jr.
