Who's Your Heisman Winner?

Gerhart
Suh
McCoy

The top two are the top two, there should be no debate. But sportswriters are idiots and the best either them will finish is 3rd.

Gerhart or Suh are the most deserving, but we as TN fans know that person doesn't get it. If all years past are any indication, Colt McCoy will get the Heisman since he will be losing the National championship game. Heisman winners usually flop in their bowl games.

Colt or Ingram will win it because they are playing for the national title.

Suh or Gerhard deserve it the most though.

Ingram wins.

Hell, Tebow was 9-3 when he won it and lost to Michigan at the Citrus Bowl which put him at 9-4.

Of course, it was alllllllllllllllllll ESPN promoting him though!!

More like alllllllllllll Tebow having ridiculous stats.

172 rating, 3200+ yards and 32 TD's through the air
4.3 ypc and about 900 yards and 23 TD's on the ground

Only a fool would award the Heisman to somebody else that year. Yes, even over DMC.

I guess my point is that every year, they say, "well, the team isn't doing that great, so they can't win the Heisman"

You said as well.

Insane stats like that can overcome it, but "Is he on a contending team?" seems to be the first question asked.

Current Vegas odds on Bama's Ingram winning the Heistman Award are -265----meaning if you bet on Ingram, you risk $265 to win $100. Someone knows something, and Bama will have their first HT winner tonight. Makes me hate bammer even more---if that is even possible. Polls of the voters show that MI is ahead on most ballots. :banghead2::banghead2:

I wouldn't call it bad news for the Vols, I would say indifferent. It's not like there is a UT player he is going against. Spiller probably deserved it as much, but I would give Ingram would be much better than Teblow winning it again.

This probably means he will suck in the NFL and have a down bowl game though.

I hate to say it but I think you are right . I kept saying it during the sec championship game if McCoy doesn't play well Ingram will win it . The kid from Nebraska should win it but we all know that he won't .

Beg to differ. ANYTHING good for bammer is bad for a Vol. I don't want to see bammer win diddly.

winner and his All-Star team to the wire with walk-ons and a first yr coaching staff.

That should say volumes to recruits.

Suh and Ingram both deserve it... although I think Ingram had the more impressive season. I would like to see Gerhart, but I'd rather the winner be from the SEC. Spiller shouldn't even be in the discussion. He had fewer rushing yards this season (against ACC defenses that were horrible against the run and everything else) than Hardesty... and even though he had a million return yards, it still doesn't account for the fact that against the ONLY good rush defense he played against this year (South Carolina) he only ran for 18 yards. Maybe if he actually ran for the equivalent of two whole first downs the week they were embarrassed by a 7-5 team... Heisman-worthy? No way man...

BUT, all of that is absolute nonsense, because the award completely discredits itself every year with massively regionally-biased voting. Kind of reminds me of the coaches' poll that is still part of the BCS system. The human element can't be removed... and that's why it sucks.

None of this is true.

If Vegas gambling odds were a prediction for the future, we wouldn't need to play any of the games. This is one of the more open Heisman races in recent history.

There's a DT in it for God's sake.

I think Toby Gerhart wins it. He's the only candidate that is the sole person in his voting region. Everyone else is in a region with another player and votes will be split (McCoy/Suh and Ingram/Tebow).

Every single ballot that has been disclosed publically from the southeast region so far doesn't even have Mark Ingram in the top 3. (per ESPN earlier today)

1. Toby Gerhart
2. Colt McCoy
3. N. Suh

It's really ashame that CJ Spiller wasn't even invited to NY. He is the most electric player in college football. His only downfall was he chose to play for Clemson.

Bama player wins Heisman and Bama beats Texas to win a NC. The greatest revenge is not to take success of others as a tragedy, but to succeed ourselves.

Not saying he doesn't deserve it, but I don't think Ingram wins tonight. In the southeast he will end up splitting at least some of the votes with Tebow... I doubt that he receives many (if any) votes from the southwest since McCoy and Suh will split those votes... Gerhart will likely get most of the votes from the west. So... that only leaves the northeast and central/midwest regions. The Big Ten area has never been supportive of the southeast (goes back to Woodson and Manning) so they may not throw too many votes to Ingram... and who knows about the northeast. Either way, this will probably be some of the closest voting, among all the candidates, in a long time.

Let him have it and then the ole' Heisman "curse" kicks in. It happens more times than not (unless your last name is Tebow)............
