McClain has more tackles than Berry and Suh. And just as many interceptions as Berry.

Sure McClain is a linebacker, but Berry played a hybrid position between DB and LB.

IMO, there is no glaring difference between the three to discern the best defensive player in the country.

You can't fault a player for having a good team around him. Tennessee has a top 20 defense, and Nebraska has a top 10 defense.

In a perfect world Suh would win, but the Heisman rarely goes to a defensive player.

Ingram is more deserving that McCoy and Gerhart imo.
