Why do y'all say GT sucks?

honestly, I would rather GT be back in the SEC instead of Vandy or Missouri, would atleast make the east a stronger division and makes more sense in a location standpoint.

You mean the mizzu that won the east two of the first three yrs they joint the SEC?

I've stayed out of the conversations this far because I don't think GT sucks.

I believe you are the most dangerous opener we've had in a long time.

I think if we come out like we did last year against App St we're gonna lose.I think if we come out prepared we'll win.

Reasons VN is saying GT suck.

1. We're playing you.
Wait until you see the "Make fun of GT" thread game week.

2. Wishbone blocking scheme.
Injury concerns valid or not and some refuse to view it, whether it's accurate or not, as more than a gimmick offense indicative of lesser talent.

3. Conference pride.
We hate Bama and are mostly glad Clemson beat them but refuse to believe other conferences are at our talent level.

4. You withdrew from the SEC.

5. You're a recruiting rival

Tech can redeem themselves early by posting a nice collection of "the girls of Ga Tech".

Why do some keep saying because UT is a top tier team heading back to the top? As if GT is sooooo far behind UT? I agree over history UT on te field has been better, but not by a large margin.

GT 4 national championships UT 4
GT 16 conference championships UT 16
GT 44 bowl games UT 52
GT .568 bowl game winning percentage UT .538
GT 17th all time in wins with 723 UT 9th with 829 wins.
GT all time win percentage .593 UT .681

Obviously UT historically has been better, but it's not by this major margin as some have acted like.

If I'm wrong on any UT stats I apologize.

If GT were still in the SEC then this may be relevant but.....

I don't get it, we get this often from other teams as well. Is it because of the offensive system and because people don't like the cut blocks? up until 2015 we were tied for the most active consecutive bowl appearances. We won the orange bowl in 2014 with 11 wins. We have been below .500 only once in recent years. We had 9 wins last year with 3 coming against the sec east. We hold a 5-5 record against Clemson and a 5-5 record against FSU since Paul Johnson has been our coach. So why do people say we suck when these facts are more than most other teams can say that we play. Imo it's a misconception based on the fact that we run the offensive system we run, so a lot are just uninformed about us. If there is actually reason why people say this besides, because we cut block and run the system we run (which are not reasons a team would suck) please tell me. Not trying to start anything, this is a serious question.

Mostly you're just being hazed because you're an opponent this year. Most fans know GT doesn't suck and that yours is a solid program but we do believe our own team to be better and feel we should win the upcoming matchup. The same as you probably believe GT to better and to be fair, I'm fairly positive more than one GT fan thinks we suck. I've encountered a few (none that have posted here but they're out there).

I really hope for no injuries. It should be a good game.

Regarding that, you also need to understand that we played 17 different starters on defense alone last season due to injury. By the end of the season, we had to use DEs to play DT because every single on of ours was injured. We were playing 3rd stringers in more than one spot because even the initial backups got injured. On defense only 2 starters remained healthy all season.

Enter GT. Rightly or wrongly, you've got a reputation for injuring players because of the offense you run. It may not be fair but it's out there and after last season we're particularly nervous about our defense having another year of unprecedented injuries.

I really do understand this, but my point is the perception of GT injuring guys is false. But I do get that the perception is out there and I get why it would make people nervous because of that perception.

You probably Geo 7 times in the last 10 years too.

You're going to be one of the first to call this resounding win a "so what! They're garbage". Calling it. :)

Nope. If we beat GT, thats a quality win against a quality opponent. Regardless of how GTs season goes, they are a well disciplined, well coached team that demands respect.

GT runs a rarely seen option offense which is difficult for teams to prepare for since they normally will only see it once a season or less. This offense slows the game down in terms of plays run and is such that it allows teams with smaller linemen and often less talented players to better compete with other teams. This is a significant benefit and clearly leads to additional wins that the team would likely not get with a more standard offense. I think this is why many people label GT as not very good.
