We cheat. And I mean in the paying players kind of way. It's just the fact of college athletics right now. To think otherwise is naïve and a bit of denial maybe.

Because WE ARE TENNESSEE !!!!! Id rather loss trying our all then to cheat. Butch jones will get our Vols back to glory WITHOUT cheating. Cheating is for pu**ies that can't win without it. GO VOLS !!!!!

You may be entirely correct. However, what incontrovertible evidence do you personally have to document that assertion? This is where we have to move beyond the realm of belief, however well founded, into one of provable facts.

Ok - I have heard some stupid unsubstantiated comments before - but this one might take the cake. I can't tell you the number of UT athletes that I have known that didn't have two nickels to rub together and you have libeled them all. 30 years ago - there might have been an exception or two but by and large we run a squeaky clean program and have for years and years.

If you know otherwise and have specific information then by all means please let us know.

There is a reason you only have 4 likes and you have made almost 700 comments. Why don't you share with us who gets paid -- you seem to clearly be in the know - and not some bull short artist. Give me one example - and then tell me how you know. I've got all night.

I have to agree with the OP on this subject. All the teams mentioned ealier and also Oregon has potential problems looming, but it seems actual sanctions or penalties that hut the program never appear. It does get one to thinking, why not take a chance. Freeze at Ole Miss may prove to be the second coming, however it seems fishy that all of sudden premium recruits are lining up to attend Ole Miss. Makes me ponder!!

I sense some bitterness, but that's to be expected on a forum filled with "sources" and "trolls" that never pan out. But unfortunately, I can't help you out, I've said all I will say on the matter. You can choose to believe or not, I won't lose sleep either way. Additionally, even if I gave an example, would you be convinced? That still isn't proof. But if you don't think we pay, you're wrong. However, I can't speak to the prevalence of it in comparison to other schools.

I am a Vol fan and won't give any specific names because I don't want to get anyone in trouble. But I am from Knoxville, went to UT and know several ex players. My sister was a Vol hostess and dated a former bball player who told us how much he was paid to come and had a car that was bought for him. I also know other players that got cars and money. I know 100 percent we cheat. Everyone does. Its not my job to snitch and get us in trouble though. But don't be naive, it happens at UT. It may be the boosters and not the school itself but it happens.

Pearl's only mistake was lying when he was confronted with the photo. Had he simply fessed up on the spot it would have been a hand slap at worst. Had the NCAA pushed harder they would have looked even more ridiculous than they already are by penalizing someone for a freakin' cookout at their home. But Pearl knowing he was on thin ice couldn't help himself and lied and his career died.

Except for the last sentence, your whole post sounds like a Florida fan! I believe their motto going back to the 80s is "yeah, we cheat, but do we lose?"

The NCAA is far too concerned with trying to consolidate extra power by overstepping their bounds and trying to do the work of the criminal justice system (Penn St.) to be bothered with trying to actually handle their own business and ensure a level playing field in college athletics. Sure, they find a way to punish kids who had nothing to do with a convicted pedophile at Penn St. YEARS after the fact, yet the news comes out in 2010 that Auburn is IN THE PROCESS OF BUYING A NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP and the NCAA just turns a blind eye.

I have little doubt that your sister slept with a few basketball players but we were talking about football recruiting. I also don't see how living in Knoxville gives one added insight, Are you telling me Dooley who wouldn't even put in the energy to visit and recruit Chattanooga and n. Georgia had some elaborate plan where guys were getting money and cars? So what year was this and what positions are you talking about?

Surely you are not opposed to sharing the year and positions that this occurred as well as how you have first hand knowledge. U and John Gruden give them a car?

We can't cheat because we are not one of the anointed. Alabagger uses PEDS and nothing happens. Bruce grills some steaks and gets fired.
