Why not Tulsi Gabbard

Look who he’s ran against this time. A brain dead octogenarian and the most liberal senator on record and most unpopular candidate from the last presidential election.

It’s like the two party system takes the dogshit candidates from the previous cycle as a challenge to go lower 🤷‍♂️
why do people act like party candidates are installed? Caveat for Harris this year.
There has been a dozen Primary candidates in past and the winner is elected by the people.

I’m not acting like party candidates are installed. I’m merely looking at the dogshit offerings each time and they get worse each time from my point of view.

I’d counter with why doesn’t anybody that’s worth a damn want to run? And if one does run they don’t get a cross eyed look even. Quality candidates don’t seem to be able to get a sniff of interest. Look at Doug Burgum he was an excellent candidate and couldn’t get a sniff of interest.

Doug ran and was defeated..you can blame the voters but not the party, as implied by your post.

I agree people go with most recognized without dwelving into policy or actual solutions.

I am not sure why anyone would want the job to be honest..the experiment has failed as far as I am concerned.

Id submit that your observation points more to the average American voter being a pliable ignorant dumbass susceptible to populist rhetoric. But that’s just me. 🤷‍♂️

I cant argue that, but also dont buy Trump is horrible, which seems to be your point using the word “populist”. He is certainly 100 times better than Harris and only issue I have with him is budgets. At this point, it is pragmatic for anyone with common sense.

As far as I’m concerned they’re both horrible. Choosing which dog turd smells less offensive doesn’t change the fact that they are both still dog turds.

Well then it sucks for you.
Hey in case you, or anybody else, took my pliable ignorant ******* comment as a direct accusation it wasn’t. From where I am sitting we are both speaking in generalities and I do think your observation is more of an indictment against voters and specifically a lack of informed voters. That’s all dude.

I’m pulling for a split house and senate. Hopefully whoever gets the White House loses the senate.

Let’s go gridlock!!!!!
Honestly this is the thing that drives me the craziest. In the last 100 years, democrats have held control of presidency/senate/house at the same time 3 times more often than republicans, including bidens first two years and the filibuster-proof first two years of Obama. Could’ve passed whatever they wanted. But they don’t. They hold the public hostage for votes. So a split vote ends up being the best option.

No doubt there is an illusion of choice.......... We are presented with the choices they approve of.

This **** blows my mind..**** is **** my ass.
Shouldn't. In 12 years the Dems have run theee different people. GOP has run one. I think it's fair to say Clinton wins if it's anyone but Trump she goes against. I think it's also fair to say the GOP crushes if they walked away from Trump in 2020. But here we are. He very well could lose to Biden and Harris. That's stupidly bad

What's the confusion? You were discussing GOP nominees. Im talking about how stupid GOP voters are. Directly related. "Hey let's nominate the guy who lost to the guy who hid in a basement." And then we will call fraud and crap when he loses again. It's crazy. Any number of governors could have the GOP nominee and this shat is not close.

name them? otherwise take off your tinfoil.
Who do you think runs this country? The President? Have you not been paying attention?

No tinfoil needed.

Tell you what since you want to name people....... Name the person or persons that were running this country the last 4 years ..... It sure as hell wasn't Biden.

I can't disagree here.

Consider what marketing and advertising have done to this country. P T Barnum said it well with "There's a sucker born every minute." Political marketing is nothing more than slogans and promises never meant to be kept, and the electorate laps it up. The electorate is the problem; politicians and handlers just make use of it. When you really look at it the other phrase should be "There are lies, there are damn lies, there are statistics, and then there is marketing." We the people are told what we want to hear and are too lazy to want facts or cause accountability.

Think about it the other way. How do you hold a politician accountable? I'd bet if Biden ran, the electorate wouldn't see fit to hold him accountable. A sizeable portion of the population wouldn't even agree that he needed to be held accountable. Our Constitution affords protections against abuse, but it also keeps the average citizen from discovering how a politician can become wealthy on a salary and limits that would make that prohibitive, so the questions are never really asked or pursued, and the rest of us wonder why we seem to be on the wrong end of so much legislation and regulation.
