Why, Rick Barnes?

TN has been to the Sweet 16 how many times since Kentucky's last Sweet 16 appearance? Kentucky is vulnerable again to a loss in the first round of the NCAA because they down to their competition. The Vols are a solid Sweet 16 and then probably needs a favorable match up to get past it.

They can pretend they have discovered how to play defense all of a sudden all they want but they haven't turned the corner there anymore then we have on offense. We just shot really bad again. It wasn't their defense necessarily, we just tend to do that sometimes. When one of us isn't hitting it seems non of us are.
“None of us”? Hey bro. I believe the Vols did have one guy tonight that was 3-4 from 3. You knew I had to jump in and defend my boy, didn’t you? 😂

No they don’t. Unless you get an insane draw in the ncaa tournament (aka Alabama last year) they are more than likely an early exit. You can’t have a defense in the 80s in March and expect to make a deep run
Their offense/defense splits are almost identical to last year’s team that went one and done to Oakland.

So youre saying UT has a better chance? If we run into a team in the first weekend that has multiple shooters, we're in trouble. Its been our kryptonite all year.

A coach who has never won an NCAAT game? Makes total sense. I’m not mad at anyone. You are spewing nonsense.
I think youre missing my point. We dont have enough consistant scorers on our team when one of the 3 arent playing well. We cant count on ONE player to create their own shot when we need it. If so... who is that player? Teams like UK have several. We've seen it twice. Thats why I think they have a better chance than we do to make a run in March. Even if we get a good draw, would you put money on us having multiple games with consistant scoring? We'll have one or 2, then a dud.

touche...I guess Igor came to play. Been games where he hasn't though but he has the last few games so he deserves no blame. Probably should have took that 3 he passed on couple of times towards the end.
I will say it also matters when you hit them, too.
It's really important we get off to a good start and not get behind in games.

On a different side note, I still wish they play Dubar some more. We haven't been losing anything on D with him. He got the steal tonight but jacked the dunk, tho. May have been fouled, have to rewatc, but seems like if he misses one or two he is out for good. I liked him being aggressive on that steal, tho.
Other guys were missing left and right but we're still playing. He got two quick shots last game but was taken out never to really return.
Be nice to have someone else that can create a shot. No matter how anyone feels about him, if he was to start chipping in for us it would be huge for us. Would love to see it happen.

I’m not missing the point at all.

Agree with you on Dubar. Also, my boy hit a few from deep tonight, but he missed another one at point blank range, missed two important FTs, had a travel, and a defensive lapse when he backed down to cover inside instead of covering a 3 ball. Not a stellar game overall from my boy.

You are very inconsistent yourself. You live and die by the 3. You get that to necessarily fall in a high clip and maybe you make a run.
That doesn't happen and you're not a good team. Like at all really.

I never said you have to shoot a ton of 3's. Score more. We cant drive and score either. Its comical most of the time. We are last in fast break points. We need to score more however. unfortunately, we are very limited. our best paint scoring play is the lob to Okpara. Other than yhay play, you just hold your breath and hope they dont clank a 2 ft off the rim.

Rn. Tennessee by far a better chance.
And No it hasn’t. Go through the losses it 100% ain’t.
Florida game. All time outhouse performance on the offensive side
Vandy. Tennessee shot the 3 ball better that game. Tennessee got beat on the boards and lost in the effort department
Kentucky. Both times. 3 ball killed us
Auburn. Just was war and they made a clutch shot.
2 games were one singular team gets white hot means it’s kryponite. If it was. Tennessee wouldn’t have the number 1 defense in America right rn.

Dude, they lost to Arkansas. At home, and it really wasn't that close. We hit a couple key shots in both games against KY and we win.
We beat Arkansas by like 3 touchdowns or more.

That don’t matter really. Like Tennessee got beat by 30 in Gainesville, and then proceeded to win by 20 with 7 players. Wild things happen. And you aren’t wrong. Make a couple shots and they win. But I’m just trying to say a team with multiple shooters is not Tennessee’s kyropnite.

Ok. Point taken. Does tonights offensive performance count as a stinker? If so, thats 3 of those losses because we couldnt score with any consistancy. UK twice and UF once.

It’s borderline. Florida was beyond a stinker. That was Counzo Martin level bad. According to torvik two games against Kentucky were 111 and 108 on offense efficiency. It’s the same ole story tho. Inconsistency on offense during games. They did it tonight. Had stretches were they really productive on offense and times it was rough. Is what it is. Zz and Igor have really stepped it up the last 3 games. Now one of gainey, Lanier, and Mashack have to step up and join them

Yeah, I was agreeing with you.
And of course not. Our kryponite is shooting the ball consistently. We do that and we will be hard for anyone in the nation to beat.

But Tennessee didn’t? Furthermore, they allowed a very unathletic Kentucky team go scorched earth TWICE! You are the number one three point defense in the country….this pathetic performance is inexcusable.

Actually, No. We didn't lose to Arkansas this year.
Both of the KY losses we were either ahead or in position to tie in the last minutes.
Just had a bad break both games, but that's basketball. The Florida game was only bad loss/ beatdown but we avenged it. We'll see if KY can get by Arkansas in the Tourney and how well they do against Missouri and Auburn.
Good luck to them on all.....they're are going to need it!
